Default Hello / Advice

Hi guys new owner in the UK (i pick up my V6 S convertible on Saturday)

I am researching dash cams to protect my new purchase and wondered if any of you had experience or advice to give on fitting rear cams to a convertible?

I would like to install a Blackview DR750S front and rear.

I like the features wifi, 1080p at 60fps, app control, parking mode etc.

Any advice or experiences with cams appreciated.

Thanks

I'd start here...

I suspect you'll find a number of threads if you try searching.

I did search and I did find that one. I am not new to forums (former Supra TT owner)

Nobody has specifically answered the question on rear cam mounting for convertibles.

Thank you for you advice.

John

Sorry - you're right, I don't think anyone has posted a solution for verts.

I took my vert to a professional installer - they weren't able to do anything without fabricating a bracket and potentially causing damage to trim to get it installed. Not worth it in my book so declined and went with just a forward facing cam.

I have searched a number of forums and i don't think anyone has achieved it yet.

I think I am going to look in to getting hold of a new trim and fabricating a mount myself.

If I am successful I will post details and fabrication drawings.

Worst case i may need to get the Plexiglas wind deflector and stick it to that! (last resort)

Alternatively i think it can be mounted to the front screen on an extender. Although i am not terribly keen on getting a view of the cabin in the shot.

What about mounting it to a bar that straddles the hoops?
