Help With Colour Choice
Several people on thus thread have it right in that taking the opinions of perfect strangers - or just perfectly strange - regarding something as utterly personal as color choice is pretty useless.
The only right choice is yours. Even if by process of elimination.
Good luck.
P.S. There is nothing understated about the F-Type.

+1 Loire Blue is to blue what BRG is to green. Understated dark in low light conditions, but pops to dazzling blue in the sunlight.

Everything is going to look great, so I'd work from your local conditions and whether it is going to be easy to keep your car clean, and how **** you are about it. Over here we get a lot of dust so black only stays nice for a day or two (I've had several black cars including a black XF, every time I get one I say I'll never do it again...). Silver is the easiest to keep clean but I took red because of my mid life crisis. Red is quite easy to keep clean compared to black. I'd have thought the dark blue would be hard to keep clean, like black.
Nevertheless you are correct! Seeing is believing and I would strongly suggest seeing whatever color(s) you are interested in in person. While there is no bad or wrong color in any F-Type (or configuration) you also certainly wouldn't want to be unpleasantly surprised or unhappy. This is a big ticket item and only you will determine what color suits you. The good news - and my guess - is you'll likely fall in love or in lust with several. Best advice is go with your gut, and don't look back; except in your rear view mirror.
All of you are right. Silver high lights the curves and doesn't show off the dirt and dust, but it is of no help when it comes to the wheels. So, silver car with black wheels ? Just kidding. One of my physician neighbors uses an at home detailer. That may be the all purpose answer.
I'd only get the Ultra Blue if you're building an R or SVR. Of the given ones, Loire Blue is always a solid choice.

Each of the colors can be augmented by the wheels and the trim (black pack vs chrome), wheel style, color, interior, etc. One member on the forum "silvered out" his silver f type, including the badging. Man did that car look sublime. The firesand or irr with black wheels; the BRG with brogue interior with black wheels and trim; white with black pack, carbon wheels, tinted glass, etc.....A set of deep concaves, dropped, unreal.. What's your look?

Hi Shane. This is a wonderful dilemma to have isn't it? Went through similar a few months ago and ended up with a black. I LOVE it but I'm glad I prepared myself for a lot of detailing and dusting. PS, I agree with the Ultra Blue comment and Volvo

Personally I couldn't be happier with my colors.

I have to agree with JagAlb on the dark grey color. Went to the dealer today to pick up an E-Pace brochure and could not take my eyes off the Corris Grey F-Type Coupe in the lot. Absolutely stunning! The white coupe inside the showroom didn't look nearly as good. Grey is my color of choice for cars as well men's suits.
Our LR4 is corris grey. I think this is a different color than Ammonite altogether.
I think you are right, though. Both colors have a 1AB/LKH color code.
Wow that surprises me as I was quite enamored with ammonite when I was shopping (already had the Rover), but looking at the LR4 it doesn't seem to look like the photos of the ammonite grey. The corris on the LR4 seems to have a greenish gray cast where the ammonite looks like a blueish gray to me.

The color swatches in my brochures are very similar, but perhaps not identical.
