It's all a matter of personal taste of course, but to me, that decal looks like the worst thing you could do to an F-Type, short of throwing up on it!

I've considered but didn't like it enough to actually try it out. If u are looking for something to spice up the F-Type, take it to a local wrap place to maybe get some parts/pieces vinyl wrapped...think it'll look better than this.

It was on my car when I saw it at the dealer. I told them to remove it or I wouldn't buy it. After they took it off the car looked so much better and they admitted they thought so too. The car had been there a while and they realized it was keeping folks from being interested. It's all taste preferences I know.

u know, on a white car and the matte look (from your photo), it actually looks not bad. probably still wouldn't do it, but much much better than the red photo.

I saw your car at that dealership and thought exactly the same thing. It is a beautiful car, and I wanted to ask them what the hell they were thinking. I knew it wouldn't be a big deal to remove it, but you obviously have good taste in asking them to remove it.

Apparently the regional dealer rep who brought the car up from Florida thought it looked good and "would appeal to the American buyer".........I've got news for him.

Since Jaguar traces the F-Type's heritage back to the E-Type, it's not surprising they're offered as an accessory. It's a homage to "FIA stripes" used in racing in the 60's. They first appeared on Shelby Cobras during their first race at Sebring in 1963.

If I was going to have a stripe I'd want the version from the project 7 car that's offset with the number white meatball. I love that look on the BRG color scheme.

I don't think so. The Elva race cars I'm aware of were open-top cars, and I don't think they were competitive with the Cobras of that era.

There were a couple Coupes that had some butt ugly tops with the profile of a cinder block. The models with the Buick V8 mill were running with the cobras. The snout opening for the one pictured, however, doesn't look quite right for an Elva, but I can't otherwise place it.

Not much, if you include the Daytona (Cobra with a coupe body) until the GT-40, and then Ford quit racing on the international circuit after winning LeMans 4 years in a row.
