Default How to fix tiny chunk taken out of side skirt

I was driving and hit a long piece of metal that was in the road. It took about a one inch by 1/4 inch long chunk out of the rear of my side skirt.

Obviously, I don't want to leave it with the white showing, but having it repainted would subject the entire panel to non-factory paint. That would be a bigger negative than simply putting touchup paint on it. Are there any other options better than simply putting touchup paint on it, but short of repainting the skirt?

if you don't want to repaint the entire panel, touchup paint is going to be your best bet after properly prepping the area

I have scratches in the same area and I'm thinking a piece of vinyl wrap on it would be a logical fix (but then my car is black). I'm having the horizontal bar in the front grill wrapped flat black to protect it from rock chips and was going to ask the installer about that area as well.

I got something in exactly the same place some time in the last two weeks. Not sure exactly when because road debris is relatively common.

Mine isn't quite as bad, but my plan for that would be the same as mine: clip the scraggly bit, smooth the white part, and use touch-up paint. If it's both dry and warm enough tomorrow I'll give it a try.

So far, raining, and I'm going to a wedding this afternoon. Maybe tomorrow.

As a necessary prerequisite, I do have touch-up paint. I expect I can make it so you'd need to kneel down next to the car to see it. That's good enough for me, given that it's a daily driver and we're heading to winter. I only noticed it because the white is showing through.

I'll take pictures when I get to it.

Some kind of plastic, obviously (from close inspection) but what kind, I don't know.
