How many Gyrodynes fit in a coupe?

Never tried it myself but I'm with eeeek on this, one in the hatch and one on the passenger seat.
Maybe just maybe if wheels only and no tyres you could squeeze two of the front wheels into the passenger seat.

From memory I dont think you can fit the rears (with tyres on) in the hatch even with the cover off. Personally I wouldnt even try putting one in the front, aside from the size those Jag rims are made out of lead and weigh plenty. No doubt it could be done, but I'd look for an alternative.

Unless someone else tries it first next time I have a rear off I will test if it fits, although that could be months away!

yeah I can remember when I first had the car I was told you couldnt get the rears in because you couldnt shut the hatch, it was one of the reasons I didnt bother with keeping the spare wheel in the car. But it would be good to get actual evidence, look forward to seeing the results of your experiment!

So I just took rough measurements of the depth of the hatch at the rearmost point and the width of a rear tyre and both are near as dammit to 19 cm so it would be a close run race, with I reckon the tyre winning such that the hatch would not close, at least not completely.
I know you can lower the hatch manually just by pulling it down so I wonder if you could do this until it stopped against the tyre and still drive OK with the hatch slightly open? Or would it just spring back up and/or not allow the car to be driven? Sorry but that is one test I am not prepared to try!

hahaha, well you wouldnt believe this but I went down to my car to check, armed with a tape measure and my key. the battery in my remote was completely dead and I couldnt open anything up, so my eagerness to find out saved me a massive hassle when I went to leave work this afternoon.

I got to thinking "geez, 19 cm sounds a bit skinny for a 295 tyre" so I rechecked my measurements and of course the tyre was 29 cm wide not 19 cm!
Which means even with the tyre in the hatch pushed as far forward as you can get it there is no chance the hatch will close over it and in fact the hatch would probably end up at least half way open which would be no good at all.
So back to the OPs original question, I reckon you can fit one front in the hatch for sure and possibly one rear on the passenger seat.

First, Love this forum! Thanks for all the input. The why -my '16R will soon be sold if all goes well and the oem gyrodynes (without tires) will go with it. Buyer will drive car and as many gyrodynes that will fit from east cost to midwest. Due to recent shoulder surgery and severe snow fall, I haven't been able to test fit myself. My guess is at best, two fronts in the back and maybe one rear (wheel) in the front, but likely only one front and one back, if you follow...was hoping maybe someone had attempted this feat!

Just thinking out loud. If it were me buying the car, I'd just pay to ship all the wheels. Driving any distance while transporting wheels, especially with one on the front seat, just sounds bad. I'd worry about the interior getting damaged or the darn wheel moving around when it shouldn't.

whether you can fit one or 2 you still have to ship the rest whether it be 2 or 3 . So why not just ship them all. You might save $20 at the cost of your leather seat or causing paint chip or ding trying to load them.

yeah in legal training the students often have "moots" which is like a mock trial but sometimes with a proper judge at the hearing, the first time I came across the term I thought it was made up.
