Default How to remove old fuel from f type

I have a f type that has been sitting in a warehouse for over 5 years. I want to put fresh fuel in the car. It starts but runs rough. How do I remove the fuel from the tank. I tried running a fuel line down the fill hose but it won’t reach the bottom of the tank.

Siphon? I have not tried this myself, but siphons are cheap and may work.

Default a mityvac?

Mityvacs come with very long extraction lines/pipes. You can get a hand pump unit or a pneumatic version.

fluid extractor or lift it up and crack the hard fuel lines.

Drive in circles till it is out of gas

All newish cars have check valves (to prevent fuel spillage in the event of a rollover) and/or anti siphon barriers in the fuel filler neck. It is almost impossible to siphon gas from the gas tank of cars so equipped..

@Jaguar Reef Check your OBD2 scanner for misfire codes if it is running rough. Is it a full tank?

If there are no misfire codes I would top it off with fresh fuel and go for a long spirited drive with lots of quick stops and starts to swirl the fuel. Be prepared for an injector to go bad during this period.

The phase separation from the ethanol and water may be lessened with mixing from agitation in the tank while driving and refilling.

Do you have misfire codes?

Correct forget siphoning out the gas. That was eliminated decades ago. Because of gas theft and the requirement of the roll over valves as posted above.
Do you have a working SDD? You can disconnect the LP fuel line and turn on the LP electric pump using SDD.

How much gas is in it? Sometimes I just fill the tank with fresh gas and get to driving! If it runs at all it will burn the old stuff off.

My C7 Corvette came with a fuel fill funnel, that allows using a gas can to add gas, and also siphon if need be! It actually helped me when I attempted to siphon without using it!
