Default How to remove the window switch control trim on f type?

Would like to remove the window switch control trim on both the driver + passenger side so i can wrap it in carbon fiber on my 2014 F type (V8). Ive tried removing the entire door panel and looking at the back of it to see if theres a way to remove it but looks like its tucked in there pretty good. Does anyone know an easy way to remove the entire trim piece? This is the trim that sits on top of the window switch control and the side mirror control. Thanks!

First get yourself a copy of the F-Type V6 Workshop Manual here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/d52ciochjn...anual.pdf?dl=0
Then go to page 20512 for the door panel removal procedure.
Then go to page 20517 for the window switch panel removal details.
The whole door panel needs to come off before you can remove the window switch panel.

Here is another option. I believe these are on-lay. Might be a bit more easy and very high quality. I have done a few pieces and it looks great. No need to take the door apart.

do you have photos of which interior pieces you bought? I’m looking to buy most of the interior pieces they offer and was curious about install - I assumed some are overlay but could see where they might also be replacements.

I have just purchased two items. Currently I am trying to work out a package discount. These parts are all made by Koshi Group. I have currently installed the Center Side Trim and the Steering Wheel Trim. I have included a couple of pictures but the lighting is not that good. Hope this helps. I think the quality and fit are exceptional.

Looks good Ben. I got several Koshi pieces from a guy that never installed them before he sold his car. Turned out to be a great package discount for me!. Haven't been home to fit them yet though. Do they have adhesive on them already, or did you have to add your own?

<<DROOL>> I LOVE the carbon fiber look!

I don't care how much weight those overlays add!

I have only installed two of the items as seen above and no adhesive needed. I am planning to do more and trying to work out a package deal from a couple of retailers. Buying them directly from Koshi is more expensive. Real easy to install.

Yea, TMC is cheaper and I sent them a list that totaled about $3500 before shipping and they offered a 10% discount and mentioned combined shipping - the shipping quote was like $400+. I’ve since decided to buy a few less exterior pieces and one less interior piece but intending to order reasonably soon. I figured this would be a good winter project along with the P7 grill.

I got lucky and came across a post from a guy selling them. I ended up getting vent covers, gauge bezels, seat switch covers, window switch covers, steering wheel cover, and center console covers, for about 70% retail. Wanted the seat back inserts, but would have to order them and trying not to go overboard. Or more overboard I suppose.

if you decide not to install, I would be willing to take them off your hands - profit opportunity for you and a chance to save a few bucks.

A great response, most helpful. I was wondering if you could recommend how to access the workshop manual for a 2014 V8S, and also knew of a resource to obtain OEM replacement parts? Thank you.

No convenient source for the manual any longer but it could be assembled by getting a subscription to https://topix.jaguar.jlrext.com/topi...cle/lookupForm
Excellent OEM part prices can be found at https://www.suburbanautoparts.com/v-jaguar-f-type

Also, I think most of the V6 repair manual also applies to the V8.

Does anyone know what are these fittings and how are they removed and if they are reinstallable?

I’m trying to remove the speaker grilles(painting) and the leather piece by the door grab (glue behind has failed on both side and the leather is lifting).

Thanks!

Looks like plastic heat stakes to me. You could break them and glue back together if that is the case, but will never get as strong as the OEM connection again.
