Default I had no idea

how loud this thing is.

Today it was finally warm enough in the People's Republik to put the top down. Holy crap is it loud. And I love it! Stopped on the covered bridge just outside of town, put it in neutral and revved it just to hear the deliciousness coming from the rear.

On a completely different note, I met who I think will be future inlaws last night. Paul is a Porsche guy and brought his Cayman. He's done a lot to it. He took me for a ride (first offered to let me drive but I declined). That thing goes around a turn like it's on rails. Really well balanced fun car. He was taking turns way faster than I would have with no hint of getting loose.

Then we took the Jag. Since it was dark, I didn't take it through the twisties. Hung the a$$ out on the first turn and he started giggling like a school kid. Hit the highway and put my foot in it. On the way back had it in 2nd doing about 30 and stepped on it. Got a good wiggle from the tail. When we got back he told his wife that he knew what his next car was going to be.

I had this same experience today! First day I've had my car where it's been warm enough for me to drive with the windows down and... holy ****. I was giggling the whole time. I love this car.

Agreed. The engine note is amazing, particularly in the roadster.

Today was the first really nice spring type day here in the People's Republik. Took a friend out for a ride and fresh air topless. OMFG this thing is loud with the pipes open. Had to pull over for a second two figure out where we were. Getting back onto the highway I got on it some. Enough to apparently scare a lady in a Honda who damn near stopped on the highway. Lots of roar when standing on it. Lots of pops and cracks when letting it slow.

Does it have the latest flash? No idea. If it does, I can't imagine that it quieted it at all. If there is anyone with access to service records, I'd be happy to share my VIN to list to see if it's been flashed.

If I recall correctly, you recently bought your car as a CPO. The K309 service action for the 02 sensors for N. America came out in in early November 2015. It contains the following instructions for dealers, "Unsold vehicles must be repaired prior to hand-over of the vehicle for retail sale."

I would be surprised if was not reflashed because the dealer would have been reimbursed by JLR for this service, and they left money on the table if they didn't do it.

Why don't you call and ask them?

Mine was a 2014 CPO but I picked it up on Aug 29, 2015. It has NOT had the K309 update. Now I'm a tad paranoid when it goes in for the annual about them doing that flash. I'm not sure I want to risk it. My V8 is a laugh factory with the pops, grunts, rips and snorts. To loose that would be devastating. I hope over the next few months we learn that it's been an unfortunate aberration to a small number of cars.
