Default Finally Took the Plunge!!

So I've been lurking on the forum for probably the past year or so. Originally had my heart set on a white V6S Coupe, then switched it to an IRR version, and then decided I just HAD to have the suede interior.

Long story short....I was in the works to complete a deal for a pristine used 2015 IRR V6S Coupe, but ran into issues with it the exact same day that my dealership (who I've been working with for the past 6 months) offered me an incredible deal on a 2016 R Coupe they had on the lot.

Needless to say, I am now the proud owner of a 2016 F-Type Coupe R in Blackberry with suede interior, ceramic brakes, and literally every other option possible. I essentially stole the car from them with this deal and they asked me to not disclose to the public the numbers, but without further ado, here is the only pic I currently have of it...I'll get more once it is daylight again and I can pull it out of the garage.

Look forward to seeing everyone around and hopefully doing some meet ups with members in the PA/NJ/MD/NY areas!

Brandon

We have several cats in the area. I live in Malvern, PA.

Got my R back in October. Met MBourne from York, Pa in Lancaster, PA for a great day together. The following weekend, he coordinated with about 8 or so in Lancaster for another rally. I couldn't make that one, but we plan on resuming in the spring.

You?

No problem at all! I actually live in Lafayette Hill, but I work all over the Greater Philadelphia and South Jersey areas surrounding the city. In a couple weeks, I'll transition up towards the Bucks County areas.

One sad note I have to report: the cat went back to the dealership last night and will be there for a few days. Evidently there is some paint chipped off where the body panels meet right in front of the right rear wheel. Was there before delivery, never noticed, but they say it's a known issue and under warranty so it'll be fixed in short order.

Also, does anyone know if the ceramic brakes are known for squeaking/squealing? I'm having the service guys look at those too, but I've never drive a car with ceramic brakes before so I wasn't sure...

Thanks for the heads-up. I read about the paint issue, but would have figured it had been sorted out with the 2016s. I have to examiner closely tomorrow when I take delivery. Where exactly are we talking about?

As for the CCB, I've never had a car with them, but I do know from the BMW guys with M3/4s with them that they constantly squeal and initial brake feel in the rain is substantially reduce--but you'll adjust to that.

Hey Kief,

I was surprised to learn that I had somehow missed the known paint issue, and it's just by chance that I noticed it only 1 day after taking delivery. I saw the link to the thread you posted, and mine is in the exact same area as the OP's (right in front of the rear right wheel, where the body panels meet). Luckily, it wasn't after a year like his was...

Appreciate the feedback on the CCBs; I guess I'll just wait to hear back what the dealership thinks about them.

The paint rubbing issue in the seams happens often because of the way the floated the panels together so it sometimes is an alignment problem. The factory also many times slightly miss aligns the bonnet so check that as well. It's an easy fix for them and sometimes unavoidable because of the size of the bonnet since it's a single stamp.
