Default F-Type Impromptu Meet Up in Lancaster PA Sunday

Flinger and I are meeting up on Sunday for an impromptu meet. All of you in the PA, Maryland or Delaware area interested in joining in please do. We will be meeting at 1pm in the parking lot of the Longhorn Steakhouse at Park City Mall off Route 30.

South central PA rarely sees this car so a group of us should turn some heads. Great country roads to drive as well. Hope to see several of you all there.

What is the plan then? Just a meet and lunch or drive?

Thinking meet grab a bite then perhaps a drive on Route 23 through foliage and Amish country. Should prove to get the buggies attention!

Finger any other route options that may be better?

I hear rain is in the forecast for Sunday, and that is a 4.5 hr roundtrip for us. However, I'll keep an eye on the forecast, and there's an outside chance we could make it if the weather cooperates.

Same here, however if others from MD head up I would like to caravan, at least that breaks up the long roundtrip.

OK, would be simple for us to meet at Annapolis JLR.

Latest from the local forecasters here at WGAL in the Lancaster area are saying partly cloudy at this point. I'll try to keep all posted as they say there could be a stray shower but it's likely going to be in the am timeframe. Supposed to be in the 60s. If rain comes we can always move it a week but let's hope for the best.

It does look like the forecast is improving here too with the previously predicted rain now being pushed into Monday.

Question: If you had two Marylanders willing to drive 2+ hrs up and then back, how do you feel about lunch at Lone Star? You PA guys could then do your local cruise? We'd be doing our cruising there and back.

I don't want to alter your plans, so please let us know your preference.

I like the idea. I know Flinger can't arrive till 1pm but I plan to be at Lonestar before then. Can get a couple of tables for those that can make it We can eat, chat then see what the day and drive brings. For those that need to get moving it will give you all daylight for the trip home.

Thanks, that greatly improves the odds with my lovely wife.

So what time would you think to meet in Annapolis Clay? looks like a 2:15 drive from my home and Annapolis dealer ship is about 20 minutes into the right direction for me.

Dominic,

1045 should be about right. While the weather will likely be OK, it's still a little up in the air, but we can evaluate that early Sunday morning.

Don't forget that Daylight Savings ends this weekend, or you'll be an hour early. Sounds like fun.

Hey folks - Just PM'd Marko about Sunday's weather.

Let's check in tomorrow about the forecast and make a call.

Not sure of the route yet. I'm usually big on 'just getting lost' in the backroads and discovering cool places to go.

Don't forget - it will be getting dark a little earlier on Sunday.

Marko, et al - not sure if you've ever been to The Whip in Chester County, but great place and beautiful drive to get there. It's an English style tavern with great beer and food. That may be a good destination 'next time' since we will meet a Longhorn and perhaps grab a bite there.

the Whip sounds good, lead on!.

Latest weather is improving with just some clouds. The stray shower or two looks like they will be in the Northern Tier of PA and well away from us and our southern friends. Will look at late afternoon Saturday and send a note out but I suspect if there is anything it will be in the early am at worst. rest of the day clouds and sun in the upper 50's........your friendly neighborhood FType forecaster....heck I am probably just as accurate as the TV clowns anyway!

We don't want to interfere with your cruising plans, given the limited daylight now. If you decide to do something other than a 1p Lone Star lunch, just let us know. We won't be offended.
