Default Dash Removal

Hello, I have a 2014 f type v8s and I'm planning on changing my dash from black to the extended leather red dash. I was wondering if anyone has instructions on how to do the removal and install?

Here’s the Workshop Manual. I’m sure it’s in there somewhere…

There isn't much about removing the dash just to swap it out but I did manage to find how to replace the passenger airbag control module which requires the removal of the dash. So if anyone is interested on removing their dash on their jaguar f type it is page 2509.

Thank you! Sometimes it's better to save some money and do it yourself so you can buy even more car parts with the money you saved or at least that's how I look at it lol.

I don't know about our Jag but our Maserati has a a/c leak in the evaporator that is hidden in the dash. My inde says it will be about $2500 labor! After market part is $850! He's willing to do it but says maybe we should keep recharging it every few months. This is a Ferrari specialist, does engine out services all the time but isn't sure about taking out dash is worth the effort. One wrong connection and you start over.

A mate of mine has a BMW SUV and the a/c fan behind the dash stopped working. As a "special concession" BMW offered to supply the part free, all he had to do was pay the labour. £100 part, couple of grand to fit it! Bargain?

I think it’s fantastic. I too am all about doing things myself as much as reasonably possible. That said, I have a ways to go before I get to your level of bravery and adventurism ;-0

No YT videos of the F-Type that I could find, but a lot on the XF dash removal and reinstall.

@shanelaughlin if you proceed, can you video or take pictures of the process for a pioneering DIY thread?

I will record a video of me removing the dash and post it on here.

Default Finished

I have since completed the replacement of the dash. I would recommend following page 2509 because it gives an in depth removal on the dash. I also found this line to be super helpful.
. If anyone has any questions regarding the install feel free to reach out!

Missed this when you first posted or I would have put a Topix link for the removal. It's not that bad really, much easier in a convertible with the top down as you have room to work. Glad you got it done, the black/red interior is so much nicer looking.

Default Well done!!

Congrats on a successful (and HUGE) project. Maybe someday I will grow your level of courage... til then I think I'll think about taking the dash off my E Type to replace the heater tubes.

And RoverJoe... please do post the topix link.. always good to have information like that!
