iCarSoft LR v2.0 diagnostic / scan tool
After recommendation by OzXFR I got myself one of these today and for the price I'd have to recommend it to anyone who want's to poke around at the electronic side of the car. It looks like this version will allow one unit to do many Jaguar and LR models too for those of us who can't stop at one car. I used it today to attempt to sync a battery to the BMS, which usually requires a trip to a tech with the diagnostic kit. Whilst that was unsuccessful it was because my battery is actually dead and not the fault of the tool so if I replace the battery myself I can save the cost of the tech visit which will half pay for the tool already.
In case OzXFR or anyone else has played with this more than me the only thing that seems glaringly missing compared to other scan tools I've used is an overall fault code report. From a brief play I have to select each individual module in the car and scan that one for faults individually, which is a bit tedious as there are *a lot* (and on my car they're all complaining about battery voltage...)
Anyway, just thought I'd mention it in case anyone is in the market.

A bit of a PITA but at least it is thorough.
I now only run the important checks/modules and skip the rest which saves a few minutes.
Not just me then :-) Thanks for the recommendation though, it's really quite a nice piece of kit for the money. I've been struggling away with similar tools for my German fleet (ahem) for a few years and nothing has been as slick as that one.
BTW you mentioned in another thread that your BMS resync threw an error, just FYI mine did not despite the crappy battery voltage so perhaps it is the second battery disconnect that has upset it. I'm going to be doing some disconnect battery experiments over the coming days so I will post updates if I find anything interesting.

Incidentally despite the ridiculously low voltage today I drove the car in a downpour of rain so didn't switch into dynamic and the car did the stop start thing for the first time since I had it. I can only conclude that the BMS sync persuaded it that the battery was good enough. I'm still going to replace the battery / batteries as that voltage is clearly not right but a thumbs up for the iCarSoft thing that did the job it would seem.
