Default iCarsoft LR V3.0

Just received the iCarsoft 3.0 Diagnostic tool. I couldn't find anywhere if this unit has a shutdown before you unplug it or not. Is it OK to just unplug from the car when you are through?

Thanks

I'm thinking of picking this unit up as well, so I will listen here with interest. The consensus seems to be that this unit does NOT exhibit the battery draining problem that some others do, but your question is a good one. Is that only if you do some formal disconnect in the software of the unit, or will a physical unplug without doing anything special be okay? Hmmm

Have you used it much at all? What are your initial impressions of it?

Cheers

ISTR OzXFR said he just backs it out as much as he can and then pulls the plug - he says he's never had the drain.

Yep.
Mine is a V2.0 not V3.0 but I doubt that makes any difference, what works for the 2.0 should also work for 3.0.

I’m not sure I’ve seen a report of the drain on an early F-type. I’ve never seen it.

I would not just unplug it,bring it back to the original screen, incase a module has not finished doing its thing ,it's a great unit you can operate actuators, control air, lights, keys etc, make you upload latest version, it will reset a new battery install replacement
you'll never get a drain with this unit

Just started using this unit. I don't have any problems or lights, but with 2 F-Type cars, I thought it would be a good investment if future problems pop up.It seems very easy to use and has tons of info on it. I liked it because it was specific to the Jag. I also have anohter iCarsoft unit for other automobile makes. I did go back to the main screen before unplugging it. I also purchased this unit due to other forum members suggustions, along with the fact you can unplug without worrying about your battery being drained.
