I want to buy the OBD diagnostic tool for my 2017 F-Type. Please recommend which one is more desirable to use. The iCarsoft LR V2.0 or Foxwell NT510.
I do run a car workshop and has the Launch Tech X431 PRO V3.0 diagnostic tool. But this one do trigger the battery drain issue so I decided to buy another one for my F-Type own use.

I got an iCarsoft Pro V2.0 as a gift at Christmas. It was sold by NG.Inc. fulfilled by amazon.com. It came in a box with the correct labeling, but the unit was for Porsche. I returned it and ordered a new one, thinking it was a one off packaging error. The replacement was identical, also for Porsche. After working through the issue with NG and amazon, it turned out that NG had a problem with their inventory that was held in amazon warehouses. I believe they recalled their inventory, and are working to correct the problem. I have been reluctant to order again. Thinking I may wait for V3.0, or by the Foxwell unit.

Sent a message to one of icarsoft seller from eBay and was informed the latest LR V3.0 version is releasing....!
Don't really have a recommendation for you. I use JLR SDD and a Drew Technologies Mongoose Cable. For other things, I use VAP DataLogger, HP Tuner Cable with their Scanner App, Torque App with OBDII BT adapter (requires battery reset), and sometimes even the VAP Tune device (which is a PowerGate 3 OBD device)...Different tools for different tasks...SDD would be the best as it will do everything (Jaguar official tool).

Thanks and really appreciate for your reply, will keep that in mind if I wish to upgrade to more professional diagnostic tools. (Just made an order for the LR V3.0 last night from Amazon)
Let us know how the 3.0 works out. I have the iCarSoft LR II which works well on the Jag and my Land Rover. It does what I need - but the interface is quite clunky so interested to hear how the 3.0 fares

For some reason the Amazon price is almost $100 cheaper than the list price on the iCarsoft website.
I just got up and running with SDD, it's definitely not the easiest thing to use and it's a little slow, but I like having all the factory settings as well as the troubleshooting stuff the techs would have.
It's not for the timid though, it feels like it needs to come with training.

Agreed with all points. This is not great...but helps a little. I put it on my Cloud Drive and the link will give you access. - IDS SDD Manual

I also use JLR SDD with a Drew Technologies Mongoose cable as it gives factory level vehicle interrogation capability. However, Drew Technologies have stopped manufacturing their JLR cable because of incompatabilities with some current model Jaguars. The recommended interface cable is now Diagnostic Associates. Probably not going to be an issue for members who already have Mongoose but worth noting for anyone considering purchase options.
I have iCarsoft CR Pro for less intensive diagnostics as it is compatible with both my Jaguar and Porsche.
I have the Diagnostic Associates one. It works well and their support is great, although they aren't going to teach you how to use the software... just get it working

Hey, was wondering if there’s any update and if you were able to plug in the 3.0 and if it works without issues? Saw a lot of people saying battery problems and issues when plugged in the wrong OBD reader. I’m looking for an OBD reader for a ‘19 F-Type and trying to find the best one suitable. Thanks in advance.

I used an iCarsoft i930 for years on my XFR then F-Type then upgraded to an iCarsoft LR V2.0 a couple of years ago and I have never had a single battery drain problem with either of them despite regular usage (around once a fortnight on average).
So it is odds on the LR V3.0 will also be problem free.
My shop uses an Autel Maxisys that seems to work pretty well.
But his battery tester and jump packs are older clunky Snapon items. I’ve gotten so spoiled having a Medtronic and NOCO available to me from my last job that I just bought an MDX-P300. A GB70 is next.

My iCarSoft 3.0 runs perfect on my F-Type R AWD, all fine, all what I need. No problems with the batterie...
