Default Ice and auto-lower feature

All,

I left the car outside, and this morning after midnight drizzle and night frost side window froze. Consequently, auto-lower side window feature didn't work and I had difficulty (had to slam it) closing the door.

Anyone has a solution for this, other than not leaving the car outside?

I keep a squirt bottle of auto glass deicer and small scraper inside the front door of the house. The combination of the deicing compounds and warm water melts the window ice in seconds.

Didn't know such thing existed. Is it safe for paint and seals? What brand do you recommend?

Either Prestone or Rain X.

Yes they're safe.

Indexing program may also have been lost. With ignition on (engine off) fully lower window while holding button and continue to hold button for 5 seconds. do the same thing on the upstroke and repeat entire cycle one more time. The auto-lower (when opening door) feature should work properly again.
