Considering I still have my 08 XJ and had a 12 XJ L Supercharged, had the F Type not come out I was tempted to get a fully loaded Tesla. Once I saw the R Coupe, I became electrified to get the F Type

Loaded 911 S. Decided that the FTRC was better looking, better sounding, and more fun to drive. The 911 is a precision instrument. The FTRC is giggle-inspiring.

I was looking at a used (9k miles) 2012 Porsche 911 Turbo S.

Inside it was too much like my Cayman but boy was it fast! BUT, not really as exciting as the F Type R!

Nothing
I was coming from a 911, wanted something different/more unique so Porsche was out of the running. Maserati GranTurismo was in the running, but too old a platform. So I probably would have waited until 2015/2016 to see the new crop (AMG GT, new Maserati, new R8, etc.). Of course I have the fortune of living and working in downtown SF so I didn't need a car immediately (Zip Car to the rescue!).

I know the Toyota FT1 will not be out until late 2015 but if not the F Type I think I would have waited to see what this Toyota look like.

C7 was the only other car in consideration...if you want to call it that.

Nothing.

I wasn't looking to buy anything. I had read a few articles in magazines and watched a few shows like Topgear and How It's Made about the F-Type. Then the wife and I had some free time one Saturday so we stopped by the Jaguar dealer just to see the F-Type in person. Then after a test drive in the V8S, it followed me home that same day. That's the way cats are, right?

Z06 or Aston Martin Vantage. Maybe the Lotus Evora.

Either way I'm happy I got the F-Type. Picked her up yesterday and still grinning. Can't wait to get home so I can do a proper "wooo got a Jag" thread.

I had nothing in mind as well... I actually just wanted to see what the car looked like in person and an old friend actually worked there (I didn't know). We took the R out for a romp and I never looked back. It was all about timing as the Z06 is intriguing me now along with a few other cars but there will always be something new out there just like the R was back in July (for me).

New z06, maybe used lambo or R8. Any porche just seemed too boring to be an enjoyable weeken toy.

I had been looking at a 991 GT3 to add to the stable but the wife is glad I got the V8S instead.
Still, there is no substitute.

Default 911 s

But, my wife didn't like it, even though I had the deal done and was ready to pick it up. It got vetoed and hence, I have the S V8 convertible. It was a consolation prize at the time, but not regretting it for a minute now.

Nearly bought a 2012 458, but a F-Type and a Rupert Neve desk seemed far more sensible

Agree it's an amazing machine, blows the jag away, just doesn't have the same personality and character as other cars. Don't think my smile would be quite as big starting that up on Saturday morning. Plus I don't want to be one of those guys wearing the jacket and correcting everyone by putting 2 syllables in por-sha.

could wait for the GT3 RS?
I know people love the GT3 wing but I'm not a huge wing guy. Feels a bit boy racer. One of the reasons I love Ferrari designs, no wing. Has any GT3 just taken the wing off and tried to put a turbo wing on?
