Default Interior lights not working

With the sun rising later, I noticed this morning that my interior lights are not working when I open the door. The dash and display light up, but I get no footwell lights, no dome light, and no lighted sill plate, no mirror puddle lights. Anyone have any suggestions on what to do to resolve this? They all worked before, but nothing now.

Have you inadvertently turned them off? Touch the lens until it starts flashing, and you should get a message that the lights are on or off. Sorry if this is too basic, but it's always good to get the obvious out of the way!

Nothing is too basic. You mean hold the main dome light lens to "reprogram" how the lighting works?

Yup. It’s touch-sensitive for turning it on/off. If you keep your finger on it, I think it flashes to show it changed from ‘off’ to ‘auto’, or vice versa. Something like that, haven’t done it in a while.

I had this issue when one of the aftermarket puddle lamps shorted out. Maybe something else to check.

Thanks for the assistance. I held the button until it flashed and it said "Interior Lights Off" (indicating it wasn't "off" before?) and held it again and it said "Interior Lights Auto". Now everything seems to be working normally again. Maybe it just needed a reminder of where it was set?

Default Same problem in my S-type

Thanks for trouble shooting this issue. My car developed the same problem. My wife and I loaded the three grand children into the car the other night and the interior roof lights wouldn't go off. I couldn't drive at night with the lights glaring so we all had to pack into a smaller car. I bet one of the kids pushed some switches as they were getting in. I ended up disconnecting the battery because the lights stayed on after we all exited the car.

Will check that master switch when the rain stops and I can get out to my car.
