Hi all I have been following this site since we bought this 2017 F- type R AWD almost a year ago. First sports car was a 67 E type that was so unreliable that I swore I would never own another Jag. Made it into an (uncompetetitive) race car. Lots of Lotuses followed, some race cars other street cars. Owned a Land Rover Series IIA and several Defenders over the years. Fly and restore warbirds, my wife and I own the T-6 in the background. My favorite to fly is the B-25, with its 3400 horsepower! The F-Type is my last sports car, picked over a Lotus Evora 400 after 12 trouble free years of using a Lotus Elise as a daily driver. So far, so good with the Jag. Thanks to all on this site for the cumalative knowledge expressed.
Nice hobby there. Some friends work with the Collings Foundation, which typically tours this area each year with a B-17, B-24, B-25, and P-51. They also have raced for years, with both a T6 and a P-51D, although they're winding that down as he's not flying anymore.
I snapped these from the house. They're typically here around Memorial Day. One year they were turning around right overhead. Yes, the windows rattled.
The spitfire and mosquito are timeless designs. I fly the collings b-25 off and on during the year , this spring I flew it at Mountain View and Livermore California, and later in middle Illinois and Chicago. The Warbird restoration thing isn’t a hobby, it’s how I make a living. The Jag fits right in as it’s aluminum, riveted together and supercharged! I also fly other b-25s on the Airshow circuit on the east coast.

One of the pictures I posted was from a flight from Buchanan (Tondelayo). The other was either Buchanan or Livermore. I live in between. I expect you know Stu and Marilyn. They're the ones I mentioned.
Welcome and great photo's. WWI era planes are iconic and my favorite machines. Not just for the beauty and engineering but the sacrifice and service and excellence they represent.

Wow, small world. Awesome pictures and line of work. Welcome to the forums!
Nice car and plane. Palm springs has a great air museum. Lots of WWII plans and they all fly. I have met a lot of the old WWII pilots over the years. Sadly most are gone now.

The Collings Foundation is based a few miles from my house; have been to a few open houses. They have an impressive plane collection in addition to classic cars, tanks, etc. Quite a place. I've flown in their B-24 ('Witchcraft'), which was quite an experience.
The Collings Foundation's 'Battle for the Airfield' is coming up in Oct - a simulated engagement between American and German tanks and soldiers. It's LOUD. https://www.collingsfoundation.org/

My brother-in-law and nephew did a ride on the Collings B-25 in Colorado a few years back.
Thanks everyone for the warm welcome. Years ago I was flying a b-25 at an Airshow in south Florida and was paired with a P-51 flying “top cover” piloted by Bob Tullius of Group 44 fame. Over the years we became good friends, and in he future I will try to get some shots posted of one of his surviving GTP Jaguars in his hangar near Daytona. What a beautiful car!
Sorry, don’t know Will. Since I’m an east coast guy, if Will is active on the west coast our paths may not have crossed
He's a bit of a legend in the Mustang world. In the 60's, he bought the Costa Rican Air Force (both planes) and all the Mustangs and P-47 that Nicaragua had and imported them back to the U.S. It's an interesting story.
When I was a kid, he would give me rides in El Gato Rapido, one of the Mustangs that he kept. I've got stick time in his T-34, which is a pleasure to fly.
