Intros from a future F-type R owner
Hello, folks. My name is Michael. Long time modern car hot-rodder, and former owner of MWS Motorsports, where I spent a few great years modifying and repairing the twin turbo Z32 300Zxs for some fantastic customers, some of whom are still my best friends. Here's my channel where my old 2004-2007 MWS Motorsports videos have been uploaded (you have to dig), along with other junk that amuses me.
After 4 years working on cars full-time, I went back to my former work, in Silicon Valley. Recently retired from Apple. In the meantime, I had moved from FD Mazda RX7s and Nissans, to BMWs. Currently own a tired 198k mile 2003 760Li, that I drove the heck out of for my Apple Commute. Welded up a custom exhaust myself, to bring out the sound on the V12.
. Now have a nicer 2004 760Li I bought with 60k miles. Now has 90k. Also have an E63 V10 M6 coupe. I supercharged it with the ESS kit and it now makes an estimated 650 crank HP. Can roast tires like Chris Harris, at will ,in 1,2, and 3rd gear. (need to make a video of that) Rev limit raised to 8400 RPM-- it's a monster. Since, before the SC it was a 4.2 second 0-60 car, it's likely in the mid-3 second range now. I dont bother to Gtech it. It's plenty fast. I recently bought my wife an E70 X5M. It's AWD, and fast, for the tank that it is. She loves it for commuting.
Only earlier last week I was researching i8s and Aston Martin V8 Vantages, and accidentally ran across the F-type forums. Wut???!!! Having seen (and heard) plenty of them in Apple's parking lot, I have admired them quite a bit, but, 1] had no idea the V8s were supercharged and tunable, and 2] figured the used pricing was out of reach. Now, I am hooked and they have become my first choice. (sooo glad they are not turbo'd--SO GLAD)
Which brings me here. I am hunting for an F-type R, AWD. I would immediately chip and pulley it, which is why I want the AWD. There's a nice RWD Italian Racing Red 2015 locally, for sale, but I already have a 650hp Slip and Slide™. I need AWD.
Exterior choices (in case you are selling: Firesand, Italian Racing red, White, Grey, in that order)
Interior: Firesand on Firesand, Red on Red, white on white, or grey on white. (I know, not easy to find)
I'll be lurking on the forum for awhile, and would appreciate any help I might need, on occasion. TIA.
I was VERY pleased to see the SC pulley kit write ups and the ECU tunes!
I am also super pleased to run see on this forum, links for Topix and the brochure website. I'll be doing some studying.

Welcome to the pride.
As you have surmised this is a great group of folks with some heavy hitters in the tech and mod departments.
Best of luck in your search and hope to see what you can do with her once acquired.
