could the benefit of the wrap to be to be able to revert back to the stock color while also enjoying a different color for some period of time? The best of both worlds and only paying for 1 'Paint Job'.

Bingo. A good wrap for this car will run around 3K, PPF is around double.

Painting new cars is not really a thing anymore since a good wrap (with door jambs) will do 98% of the same thing as a paint job for FAR cheaper. The biggest reason why wraps are becoming more and more popular (especially on exotic cars) is protecting the investment or not letting the value drop significantly. For an example, lets say that I buy a new black Ferrari 488 and decide that my favorite color is pink and want to paint my car pink. Two years goes by and now I am ready to sell the car:

(1) I have to try to sell someone a pink car
(2) I have to explain why I painted the car
(3) Even if my reasoning is that I just really like the color pink, a light bulb goes off in the buyers head of "was this car in any accident" and "what other potential issues are there that he might be trying to cover" regardless of how the car was actually treated!

Now if you have a project car or a classic or something that you truly plan on keeping forever, then a paint job is much more suitable. The above mentioned is for new(er) cars that will likely be sold or traded in a shorter amount of time.

Damn I've been away from this post for a bit.

No not yet, the springs were delayed and came towards the end of the season last year so no point in putting them on until this April. SOON!

Agree with other poster - ShowNSto.

New wheels -- solid gloss black, black lugs; definitely. Personally I'd have the Gyrodynes powdercoated gloss black even for winter tires, for <$500 might as well have them looking sharp.
Again, agree with another poster - everything on the exterior black or blue.

(Funny - I tried my hand at Plasti-Dip on my leaper - fail - came right off a week later. Only thing I have on my car that isn't red or black)

Other than minor personal-taste nitpicking - a stunner.
haha thanks for the suggestions! I have another thread on the new forged wheels I just received for my car! They are brushed black! and yes I will be getting rid of the dealer plate frame no worries!

Do they wrap inside the door jams etc? Pics would be great.
I didn't get the door jambs done because the car is actually gloss black so it doesn't look out of place, plus the actual areas that can be wrapped are quite small in the jambs. Will take a pic soon and put it up.

Exactly! well said sir! I wouldn't mess around with the factory paint as its quite an extensive process and irreversible. Wraps or even the new removable sprays like Autoflex (its like plastidip but looks and feels like factory paint that can be removed) give you the ability to change around the color without messing with the factory finish. If I sell the car or decide to change it up I can easily do so.

I wanna do my E 90 M3 with this color wrap - What I hesitate about is many wraps I see don't have a true gloss and don't really look like paint - or worse, they look like the paint jobs I'd see in high school when someone rented a compressor and sprayed their car in the driveway....

Wraps are really improving now, manufacturers like 3M and Avery are offering super gloss vinyl which looks exactly like paint.

I had gotten the vinyl on my car polished and sealed with ceramic coating which helped to make it shine just like paint.

Wheels and car look fantastic. Really like the slender concave spoke.

You can also do a dual layer wrap, clear over color. Gives the look a ton of depth and makes it even harder to tell from paint. That's what we did on our Purple F-Type.
