Default Jaguar doesn't stand behind its warranty

Jaguar void my warranty on a fully warranted CPO F-Type when the engine failed with only 5000 miles after purchase the car was in storage for winter and when I purchased the car November of 2016 went into storage drove the car for 4 months during the summer went into storage for the winter when I remove the car out of storage it was just past the one-year oil change date so they voided it every Jaguar owner should know that they should remove the car from storage and change the oil in the middle of the winter or voids the warranty now I'm looking at a $50,000 engine replacement what kind of up company is is Jaguar

My dealer advised that I change my oil before storage in winter because if I waited it would be past the one year due date for the service. What caused your engine failure?

Dealer dealer stated the motor would be $48,000 what a joke because II didn't change the oil before putting in storage only drove the car 5000 miles after dealer certified it as a CPO car

Any indication why the engine failed? The reported engine failures here are really small in number. Something sounds wrong here.

Come on buddy, the car probably is only worth $70-80k as it sits if its a 16MY R. You can't have believed that...

Regardless, it sounds like you let the car go ~16-18 months without an oil change. Jaguar clearly states in their documentation that oil changes are required every 12 months with a 1 month leeway either direction. This one is on you.

OK, so the repair number sounds ridiculous but the idea that they'd void the warranty for missing a 1yr/12,000 mile oil change when the car only went 5,000 miles in just over a year is pretty ridiculous too.

....the whole idea of the time limit is stupid in the first place; I end up changing my oil every 2000 miles or less because of it.

Why did it fail?
Was it low on oil?

+1. They might have a good argument, though, if the engine failed due to low oil.

why this car doesn't alert for low oil when it has an electronic dipstick just boggles my mind

Especially if the car sat parked.

Outrageous repair quote tells me this dealer doesn't want to deal with this problem and trying to scare this customer away.

it actually does, my car begged me to add a certain amount of oil in my engine, took it to jag and they dealt with it and were thankful.

It actually does warn you to add oil. My car is a 2016.

Did it ask for oil without you checking the electronic dipstick?
