More on JLRs future plans. The article does mention the F-Type is still selling well.

Two points:

1. The F-Type is selling well? Compared to what? 2024 F-Types that I was looking at before I bought mine last month are still sitting on dealership lots, sadly.
2. JLR's NA President mentioning that the F-Type ended production last year seems to be in conflict from other news sources that it ends production this June or sooner. Maybe he meant for the production for the north America market?

My local dealership had several f-types in the showroom six months ago. They're all still there...

The dealership where I bought my 2024 R has moved a surprising number of F-types through their showroom over the last year and a quarter. When I first went in there as part of considering my purchase they had literally something like 8 or 9 of them in stock. This happened to a lot of dealers in Canada. With the way multiple backlogged orders flowed in due to pandemic delays a lot of dealers had way too many on the ground. For this reason Jaguar intentionally delayed 2024 allocations for the F-type in Canada until late last year (to help give time for 2023s to clear).

I remember my wife and I thinking that they would take forever to sell them all but it was not the case.

There is another dealer in my city as well, but not sure what kind of volume they have sold.

All my dealer has on their floor now is 2 2024 Rs. Mine and one more, and apparently there are 2 people seriously considering purchasing it.

I think it is exactly that, specifically the US market. They were still producing 2024 allocations for Canada after they stopped producing for the US (right into 2024 as far as I’m aware). My 2024 R was produced in Nov 2023 from memory. At that time I believe production for the US was long closed.

Wondering what this will do to the market for used F-Types once the new car inventory is depleted and Jag goes EV. I have a 2020 that I love but was going to sell due to concerns of future maint costs especially with the ICE being gone.

I’m personally in the camp that believes values on these cars will hold and/or go up. People want what they can no longer have. That’s how the human brain works. Add in the fiasco that is the current EV movement and I believe these cars will be in favour for a long time.

That said, I’m pretty passionate about these cars and will be willing to deal with keeping it on the road. Life is too short not to do so if that is what you want. At least for me. But I don’t look at these cars in terms of dollars and cents first. It is a factor for sure, but not the dominant one for me.

That's what I'm hoping. Every time I try and do the logical thing and look at a new car to replace my F-Type, I look at my F-Type and just can't do it. It's too nice looking and (for my area) different to warrant going to some random sedan.

Like the E-Type I think it'll take a long time for the value of a F-Type to be more than what I paid for my 2024. There is still some ICE V8s out there that are still very popular, namely the Corvette and Mustang, however minus the ERAY neither has AWD or the looks that will age as well as an F-Type does.

If Jag folds, or no longer offers service, or is perception is that JAG is toast, these cars will likely become fire sale orphans.

Same as any orphan brand in the US

Look at what happened to the little Pontiac 2 door convertible.

BEST !

Savor now what very few will ever have the opportunity to enjoy. And don't worry about the money. These will be highly sought after cars sometime down the road...perhaps in the 40's or 50's.

Are you actually comparing an F-Type with a Pontiac Solstice??

NOT AT ALL !

It's simply an example of the public demand for a car where there is a fear that the company will "go out of business"

Happened to Studebaker and many others.

Side note: How do I upload a profile pic that isn't extremely blurry? The max size limit is extremely small so when I use a tool to compress my photo, it looks terrible.

Instead of doing the hard work required in figuring out what you need to be doing to cater to the market, Jaguar took the "easy way out" and [apparently] destroyed their brand.

A good business lesson for anybody paying attention.
