Jaguar Fires Their Design Boss
Given that Trump has eliminated the CAFE mandates of the Biteme administration that forced EVs on this country perhaps it will signal a return to more ICE vehicles and Jaguar will follow along by resurrecting the F-Type.
Jaguar will still be EV only for the near future, the reality of it is they don't need jaguar to make money, Rover does that just fine. The company as a whole is moving upmarket, and selling Epaces, Fpaces and such is not what they want to do. JLR had the best financial performance ever in '24 and they barely sold jags. This year with the hacking incident it was obviously bad for buisness but the recovery plan is to build more Range Rovers, not small cars. Gotta build what makes you money.
Don’t know about you guys, but these recent events give me some renewed hope that the forces of reality may be setting in towards Jaguar modifying their course in some way. I read some reports that they’ve even softened the messaging again on social media and whatnot towards, once again, recognizing their past and legacy etc…The abandonment of that in the messaging around the Reimagined stuff, as we know, was very offensive to fans of the Jaguar brand. There seems to be some recognition of that now, some backtracking, etc…
There’s hope that sanity will win out here. There’s no way they will not get this new EV out. They probably have to with how far along they are, but perhaps they’ll do that alongside some other hybrids and such…Looking forward to seeing what happens here…

My concern is they're too far over the edge of the cliff now to correct course, even with mother ship money.
Seems to me Jaguar could very easily make a E type redo that looked like an E type with the modern amenities, similar to what Ford did with the 2005 Mustang. It wasn't a direct copy but it sure as heck looked like a Mustang and sold like pancakes on a cold day. Yeah the back seat wasn't the greatest size wise but it would carry 4 adults and was an excellent little car all around. Figure out what works and duplicate it. It looked like a Mustang! Sure as heck worked out for Ford.
For the love of god, keep politics off this board. There are plenty of other places where you can wave your MAGA flag.
Do you think the LR and JLR has been more of a curse then a blessing?
I can't imagine the LR side of the boardroom was interested in giving an inch of compromise as the world standard symbols of success transitioned from executive express sport sedans and GT cars to the SUV.
