He said 'not with led'. Is it still really that ridiculous?

Yes... Are we back at the times of spinners? Besides, dirt etc will render it useless in no time.

Rolls-Royce used them for a while, not sure if they still do. But no, I wouldn't.

Rolls-Royce has used them (might still?) as recently as a couple years ago. On the ridiculous scale I guess I have seen a lot worse. Most would not notice the spinning center cap. It's completely different from "spinners". But yeah dirt and water will probably kill it in no time.

Have I bought some foolish things? Sure I have, I bought lambs wool mats for the XK8. But these are over the line even for me. The only time they do anything is when the car is standing still and the caps line up perpendicular to the ground. I suppose a nice touch for the **** compulsive, but really who else would care.

The only thing I like about these is that they are the new style growler in black. Surprised that the new style in black still aren't available anywhere.

I have them and they work in any weather. The only thing wrong with them is they hard to keep their appearance from fading.Other than that, they always work perfectly and they're very cool when you see the light reflections on other peoples cars or when passing by glass buildings

Don’t think they are that bad. BMW and I believe Merc’s have them for their higher end models as well (I’ve seen them in the 7 series before) but I wouldn’t put them on a sports car.

The wife ordered them for HER car (<<---notice the emphasis ) years ago, and they are still working for us (~16.000 miles so far).

Nice, that the growler is always right-side-up..

But ... the growler's chin is supposed to be pointing to the valve!

I have them on my BMW, they came with them. Completely unnoticeable except when parked.. it's a nice touch..

I'll add, they are sealed.. dust isn't an issue. I would never consider the LED version.

...perhaps there is something wrong with your tire valves, then?

I'll note that our OTHER cars' centercaps are always oriented with the logo right-side-up with the valves on the bottom. In other words, I agree with you.

Wait...these 'floating' growlers are pointed correctly with the valves at the bottom...

These are very common in BMW land. I'm not sure how many people actually have them though. It's your car, have fun with it.

Well, I just sprung for them and I must say i do like them. Got them in three days and they came very well packed and protected. First off as you can see from the first picture they are larger than the stock ones, appear to be very well made and they don't actually spin, they remain in the correct position all the time.

Stock on left.....
