Saw this earlier today. Man this looks like a hoot to drive. Look at those rear fenders!!!! With that said, I am driving a base XE rental right now, and I hope the electric steering is completely revised. It will surely fix one of the major problems with the base XE - it will be able to do a burnout!

I feel the need to give the "creatives" involved in producing that commercial a high-five. To the face.

Car look interesting...

It's the same 5L V8. I'm assuming everything is the same except for the software.

Just surprising that it's not a 2 door. It would have been a great introduction to a 2 door XE capable of whipping an M4's rear end. Maybe someday....

A 2 door XE Project 8? I'd offload my MINI and one of the 4X4s to get into that.

Default Increase of power ....

Guys,
so this car will trump the SVR F-Type in the horsepower dept. 50 ponies more than my car and 25 ponies above the SVR. Jaguar should offer upgrade tuning packages for our cars.

And they may... but it will be the form of another car you have to buy if they do.

Exactly, they'd rather sell you a $100k car than a $2k software update.

The extra weight of the XE will negate the 17hp advantage over the SVR and probably the 42hp advantage over the R.

What weight penalty are you referring to? Lol.

XE is lighter than the ftype.

Its probably pretty close. The heaviest XE is only 50 lbs. lighter than the heaviest F-type. But that doesn't account for the addition of a V8 over the V6, so its probably a wash.

I'm not an XE guy but a quick google search said 4015 lbs or about 150-200 lbs heavier than a V8 F type....

4061 lbs here, not sure how much fuel; Jaguar XE Reviews - Jaguar XE Price, Photos, and Specs - Car and Driver

Anyhow, regardless; neat car but the 4 doors kill any interest I'd have in it.
