hi guys

struggling to find touch up paint for my (new for 2016) storm grey colour code

my local dealer here in Aus says jaguar don't offer any

my local repairer can only offer it in water based, but i'd prefer enamel so i don't have to bother layering a clear coat over the touch - which makes the touch up look even worse

has anyone hit the same road block with jaguar dealers in US?

 

(Edit, my bad these are 2015 colors, but I'm sure they could mix 2016 Storm gray).

Jaguar's own touchup paint is no doubt made by someone else, so it probably doesn't matter where you get it as long as it is mixed to the correct paint code.

I'd go with the clear on top to get the best match.

 

Storm Grey came out for 2016 and when I last checked a couple of months ago, there was still no part number here in the US. The last few times I've got touch-up paint (not JLR) it had both a color and a clear component. I believe both were water-based. I'd be surprised if the entire car isn't done with water-based paint due to environmental regulations, but haven't been following that for years. I'm no longer in the industry, but someone who is will surely speak up.

 

I ordered 2016 IRR touchup from expresspaint.com after Jaguar told me they were not going to support it.
