On a tight slalom and with substantial power, I would think that RWD would be an advantage over AWD. Throttle steer can be quite effective in tight quarters, especially with wide tires.

Very true, luckily the AWD system on the F-Type is rear biased so I took advantage of the rear sliding to get the car in line for the next turn. The issue was... the second it hit 4000rpm on the straights, you can hear the throttle getting killed (not by me).. Dave, a veteran JCNA slalom races was there with a V8S, he tried everything and at the end he opted to turn off all the nannies (DSC Off). It made for a very nice smoke show. This super-compact track configuration is not truly allowing the F-Type to excel. The 2300-3000lbs cars do so incredibly well. There was a 500 Abarth, while still 2 seconds behind, he was able to drive around on 3 wheels... (inside rear constantly up).

Just goes to show that no matter how much power you have.... putting it down is critical. I am switching up to 265/305 tires. Luckily I opted for 11" wide wheels ;-)
