Note the fine print: Rankings based on numerical scores, not on statistical significance. Note where class winners Acura (ILX) and Toyota (Corolla) rank on that very same index. Below the Industry average.
In other words: These numbers don't mean that much with regards to severity...

I do think there are build quality issues with the F-Type, but I think JD Power dings them considerably on the infotainment system and other design-related things that are more “shortcomings” than “faults.”
While there is no excuse for crappy panel alignment at hood/fender (were the factory techs blind?), the Meridian sound system issues that have plagued the car for years (deaf, also?) and other things... there are known fixes for these that once sorted should being the car up closer to average. They are definitely the kind of thing you’ll notice in 90 days. Honestly a little more care and focus would make a big difference, JLR!

Winners tell jokes, and losers say deal.
First, let’s note that the number one model was the Porsche 911.
Second, JLR captured both the last and next to last places. Coincidence?
Third, I expect that JLR accomplished this feat by combining both build defects and design defects.
When I bought my F I was looking at the panel alignment and the sales person remarked I was hoping you wouldn’t notice. The electronics are 5-7 years behind the state of the art. And the level of standard equipment is sorely lacking. At least in the case of our cars we are talking about $75,000-$125,000 vehicles. Not a winning combination.
Folks rave about the sound and the styling but you never see posts proclaiming the outstanding build quality or design features.
Ford got Jaguar up and running by throwing in billions of dollars. But the present regime is going to revert to the bad old days if they don’t up their game.

This is more a reflection of JD losing their way- scrol down and look they gave the highest quality award in Midsize car to Ford Fusion. LOL someone tell Ford who have scrapped the car and design.

For your reference
Your car (2014) did beat out a Kia when it was released.

And as per features and initial quality
2014 Jaguars got the highest ratings possible.
Note the only other car to rank as high as a Jaguar was Porsche (who must be greasing JD because absolutely nothing is standard on a Porsche)

Another caveat with any JD Power & Assoc. 'rankings' is the size of the sampling. What's more important than the IQS is the ownership experience over three to five years.
If Power's rankings made such a difference to consumers, the manufacturers listed as below the industry average would never sell any vehicles. Some of the exotics have horrible 'build quality' but people purchasing them don't care. Some look like kit cars a teenager with poor eyesight put together in their garage.

They tell us that the 2014 Jaguars were the best designed and quality cars bar none.
Well Jaguar hasnt changed its design or quality since then. 80%of their fleet is the same as it was in 2014.

To me these results really aren't relevant to this type of car and having honda and jaguar in the same survey is silly. You choose some brands based on emotions, or exclusivity. You choose others for a very long warranty or great value. Apples and Oranges. All cars these days are light-years ahead in terms of quality than 20 years ago.
First world problems... oh no this [thing] isn't perfect! Quality problem! People are nuts.

A recurring defect in both Jag and LR has to be the ICT/ICTP system. That alone will get you 1.5 defects per vehicle. But, I can't say it's something to keep you away from the brand. 15FTypeR's point about the improved state of vehicle quality is a good one. Almost all new cars are reasonably reliable. The greatest risk is the complexity of all the electronics - and, that's a hard for a small brand to manage.
