Hennessey has a history of bad business and is not to be trusted.

Couldn't you take an R from the dealer's lot to the drag strip and make nearly the same 1/4 mile?

stock awd R will run high 11's, iirc best ive seen a mag run is an 11.7

there's also a solid 2-3 mph in that kit too

has anyone here ran up their vap or eurotuned car to compare?

When I checked a couple years ago, they wanted $13k for that package. Of that, I estimated they are charging $10k of that for the plaques, logo and warranty. This is just one example of what's been written about Hennessey: http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j...KoV8vUFlQNSFQQ

See signature. There's more left in it on the tuned run; the car was dumping fuel on the top end to cool the cats down. I'm hoping for an 11.2 on a perfect day.

Probably would just be easier to move the temp probe. We're trying to address this problem with one step colder spark plugs, which I've already installed. However the other issue I'm having is I keep blowing the tires off the thing. The stock Pirellis start to slip at the top of 1st and 2nd and ESC cuts power on 50% of my runs. Upgraded tires are in order.

Fair enough re the temp prob. With the M156 motor in the AMGs, people modding would remove the cats (good god they would get loud) and use software to prevent codes. The cats were rather restrictive on those cars. More than half, id guess, would take out the secondary cats (because there was no O2 sensor behind them, and thus no need to do software). I figured it would be a simple fix to the overheating problems in the X152.

Re tires, I can't seem to burn through the ones on my car fast enough. I look forward to slapping some good rubber on this car. I can't go full throttle in second gear at all right now.

I've got the vap cats and it's extremely loud once the valves open. Regarding moving "the probe" there is no egt sensor or temp probe to move... I think it uses the oxygen sensor data to interpolate temp values.

Yes they are one in the same. But I believe this sensor is not for engine fueling purposes. More of a monitor of emissions and temp.

Michelin PS4S would be the likely choice. Going to a cup tire probably would be unnecessary.

People still buy his products. Enough people know the name from what he's done and ignore or overlook the risk associated.

When I was a Corvette Forum participant, his travails were well documented. Most people stayed away, but some were captivated by the grunt he added. I went to Lingenfelter and was very happy. I think there is always a better alternative.

Agreed. And Lingenfelter is a great community advocate here in Michigan. More than just another shop.
