Picked up a 2014 V8S today in Albuquerque NM. Driving it back to Portland OR.

Up until last week I had a 2010 BMW Z4 3.5i. It had the big engine with two turbos. While that car was no slouch it pales in comparison to this V8.

People always told me the Z is more of a GT cruiser vs a true sports car. And I totally understand what they mean now. Suspension on the F-Type is much stiffer than the Z in even the sportiest setting. I love how quick the top goes down/up. When in dynamic mode with active exhaust the thing sounds fantastic.

I do miss a few of the Z gadgets such as the 10mph increase when flicking the stalk while in cruise control. The F-Type infotainment System is also quite antiquated compared to my Z. In all other regards tho the F-Type is fantastic!!

Welcome. Very nice car. I am rather partial to a convertible.

I also still smile like a teenager every I get in the car. I hope it never ends.

I agree they knocked it out of the ballpark with Firesand. Once I saw that color in person I knew mine had to be Orange. I shopped nationwide just to get this color. Luckily I found one not terribly far away (1600 miles).

Good luck and enjoy her - we tend to speak with "her" and "she" here... :-). Wifes get "The wife"...

Another crazy for owning one!

I like it in Ammonite Grey, chrome and black wheels

What route did you/ are you taking from NM to OR? That could be a very interesting drive. You could have some fun in Bonneville...

My brother has a Z4 3.5is - fun car, but it lacks the 'fizz' you get from the F-type.

I took a 'boring' but safe route. Didn't want to encounter any snow on any passes so chose the desert. Went I-40 to Barstow then CA-58 to Bakersfield then I-5 all the way north. Google was suggesting to go north via some interesting mountain roads then hook up to I-84.

Funny. I'm glad you didn't buy it lol. The sales guy was telling me that he kept getting inquiries about if. It was already sold to me but it took Jaguar a few days to get it off their website.

It was my default selection if the one I did buy didn't go through during my negotiations. Really glad you were able to ****** it up.

Did you buy it from Danny by any chance?

How was the ride for you during such a long trip? My wife and I are thinking about a road trip? I am not sure how comfortable it would be since I usually just bolt around town (so far).
