Thumbs up Just ordered a '15 F-Type Coupe 6/16...

Hey Guys,

New here...just ordered the car and the dealer placed the order 6/18, they have allocation so now I'm just waiting for it to be pulled and assigned a VIN #.

I tried to keep costs down but get the look I wanted so I went with Polaris White with the 19" Black Centrifuge wheels, both the exterior and interior Black packages, the Cirrus standard seats, the switchable exhaust, powered tailgate and configurable ambient interior lighting package...should look amazing!

I've recently sold off some of my Chevrolet musclecar collection but am keeping a sweet '28 Ford all-steel bodied Model A Roadster that is currently in paint jail getting gloss black paint and obviously the Ingenue Buick funny car...which my dad originally built in 1967...that is currently having a cackle motor built so we can make some noise with it on a 80% load of nitro...should be fun.

I hope to chat with many of you and learn as much as I can about my new ride...can hardly wait for it to arrive!

Congrats!!! That's very similar to the configuration I'm thinking for my order so post pics when you get the car =). Did your dealer give you an estimated delivery date? Did you drive the V6S and the V6? Trying to decide between the 2 models and would love to hear your impressions as I haven't been able to drive a V6 yet. Thanks

Get the V6S hands down. The suspension dampers alone are worth the price differential.

Thanks...that's what I'm hearing but I couldn't swing the price differential...since I might lease, it may have not mattered much.
I'll ask my dealer and see what he says, I still have time to change the order if I'd like.

mm767cap, I think I saw your thread where you hadn't decided yet, no I haven't even driven a car yet(!), plan on doing so when I stop by the dealer I ordered the car from on the way back from SF on Friday.

Like I had mentioned, I'm buying this car solely on appearance...I just love how it looks, especially in white with all the black trim!

With the car currently ordered how I want it, MSRP is $72,975 after destination and CA emissions minus the $2k discount...so like I said, trying to keep the cost down as much as possible...it's a gift from my wife!

Well stopped by the dealer on the way back from SF today and finally got a chance to actually drive the car,lol...they had a Firesand base coupe with a few options that I ordered on my car bring the total MSRP to just a hair over $80k...it had the switchable exhaust and powered tailgate.

Although the traffic slowed things down when I drove the car right around noon, I can tell you I was very impressed by just how solid the car felt and the brakes were right-there responsive with very little pedal movement.

The base V6 seems more than enough to power this car and I know I'll be happy in that department. This car had the sport seats (which I didn't order) and they were very supportive and the lumbar option fits you in all the right places. With the exhaust switched on, the car made all kinds of great noises and I can see myself having all kinds of fun with that, lol!

Only minor complaint I have (that I know I will probably get used to with time) is when the spoiler pops up, it really limits your rear view visibility...especially considering how small the window is in the first place.

Anyways...great car and I can hardly wait to receive mine...here's some pictures my wife took with her phone, I REALLY like the black Centrifuge wheels, they'll look great against Polaris White:

I know reading here about the rather firm ride I can confirm that yes, it is firm but not jarring in any way...just solidly connected to the road.

It might be sprung pretty firmly but it was so well composed and SO rock solid that I see no issues going forward...I'll just need to watch myself on rather less than optimum road conditions we have here in Cali...rather poor would be a better description to be honest.

Glad I ordered the 19's based on the looks, I do not think however I'd be happy with the ride on 20's, you'll need pool table smooth roads to take advantage of those...and those just don't exist in California.

That all being said, I will take the advice of others here and buy the wheel protection insurance...just so I can sleep well at night.

As someone who had already replaced 2 20" wheels due to cali freeways, yes. Get the wheel insurance!

Ah British Motors. That's where I got my car. Who's your sales rep? Saw that orange coupe when I drove by the other day was surprised to see the Lotus next to it.

I'm dealing directly with Phil Boegel the Sales Manager who is a real nice guy and has 38 years Jaguar experience...the guy's called me twice to thank me and keep in touch (I was in the business for 20+ years and never saw a Mgr do that!) and Alysha Ronuk is the salesperson assigned to the deal.
They seem like really nice people to deal with...

Thanks...I'm certain I will...it was between this car and a C-7 Stingray and I'm absolutely positive I made the right decision.

I was also looking at the c7. Decided on the jag after driving the stingray. Im 6'2" and didn't fit in the car. Since I track my car, there was no way I'd be legal in the vette with a helmet on.

Since then, I've been passing the c7s on the track and am happy I made the right decision. You'll love it.

I saw a Velocity Yellow C-7 at Kirigin Cellars last Saturday for an event and that certainly is a color I would have chose the car it, either that or White.

I have a 1969 Z/28 that I painted Millennium Yellow (which proceeded Velocity) and after seeing the car up close, I'm certain I made the right decision...the F-Type's line are timeless and will age very well...not sure I can say the same about the Stingray.
