Just out... Type 00
Monterey Car Week
Monterey Car Week
Just saw it in person at Monterey car week! Beautiful women, music, and food. They even had a XJ 220 and a E type on hand to show that they shall never forget ! Rumor has it that it might be a hybrid due to changes in POLITICS. Estimated at $100,000 and targeted for the young, cool and hip demographic. Only available in blue or pink so far.
One designer's thoughts on the Type 00 concept.

I wonder why Jaguar couldn’t have made a hybrid, starting with the F-Type. If they can stuff a V8 and an all wheel drivetrain into that beautiful bodywork, why not use the current 4-pot engine and add motors and batteries?
Call it the FE-Type. There would be something to put in the showrooms until the 00 is ready. My local JLR dealer is all Land Rovers and one or two used Jags out back. Sad.
I agree that the design has potential. I don’t think the price point is realistic. How many will pay $100K for it?

Apparently the first of the "new" Jaguars will be a 4-door car.
I think going all-electric is what might kill it in terms of sales success, apart from being way up-market compared to previous Jaguars. The EV and Net-Zero mania seems to have run it's course. Here in the UK, EVs mainly sell to company car drivers who save shedloads of income tax because EVs are favoured by the income tax regime for company cars.
