Default Key fob presentation

Some dealers present the key fobs for a new F-type in a lovely presentation box, nice touch on picking it up. Is this always the case or just some dealers do it.

I'm suprised they didn't design a nice looking fob not just a similar range rover one. Something similar to what porsche have done, a fob with the F-type lines, it would have been a nice touch.

would have been nice, but just presenting me with a brand new F-Type was good enough.

damn.. i got a quick walk through of the car but it was being kept in the back in the service bay. In comparison to how we picked up our MB GLC 300 from the benz dealership who had it under a cover. i think Jaguar dealerships need to work on making their customer experience like this a little better.... especially considering when youre picking up something special like an f-type.

Got the same box as you, it was a nice touch I guess but not as nice as when they told me that they had also contributed £2500 to my deposit !

Yes got a key cover but if for some reason you need to use the mechanical key then it’s stitched in.

Those who buy NEW cars and enjoy the 'retail experience' pay dearly for it. About 30% for that hand-holding, compliments, and here is your presentation box.

When I was shopping used my dealer buddy kept asking but 'what about the retail experience' and that stuck in the head. Are people needing that pat on the back and friendship based on the transfer of funds that badly?

Personally I've always enjoyed the used car buying experience much more. No $30k pissed away on an hour or two of false self importance.

I only purchased used once in 30+ car purchases and I love the new retail experience... if you can afford it. You have te newest car to hit the market, not some car that the previous owner may have molested or done some pretty odd stuff in it.

Not here either. I like the leaper and the growler. I wonder how much those cost.

Both OP and Malbec are outside USA, so maybe presentation box just for non USA. I did get the growler key chain separately in a nice box, I think directly from Jaguar. It came some time after I bought the car and picked it up at dealer. I posted a thread on it. The leaper was attached to both fobs at pickup, no boxes. My '16R was purchased in March of '16. When do you guys get your cars? The fob key chains themselves can't be that special. Our LR4's key chains had swivel emblems that broke. Dealer had many, two years after purchase, and gave me two without blinking. How much can a box cost for thousands of them? Still a nice touch though.

I think more accurately, it should state "if you are willing to pay for it". In spite of being able to afford the new car experience, I (and I presume many others here) was willing to forfeit those sixty minutes from my life and keep the change in my checking account. I have bought new and I have bought used. I prefer to have someone else take that enormous initial hit. I have yet to have a new car purchase experience worth tens of thousands of dollars.

YMMV.

I was handed the keys, a handshake and a pass off to a service tech who explained the car that was sitting outside in a parking slot. Didn't see or hear from the salesman again, except for one short call.
I was called back 6 months later for a 'fluid check', expecting to be shown the newest Jags/LandRovers. My former salesman was not in his office at 10:30, but as I walked around the showroom, none of the other sales persons seemed to want to stop reading newspapers, computers, etc. to ask if I wanted to look at any showroom cars. I waited 1-1 1/2 hrs. for a fluid 'check' only to be told that all was 'o.k.'. As I started to leave my salesman walked in from lunch.
I guess there are too many people buying $100+ cars from the JLR dealerships these days??

Personally, it would bug the crap out of me if a salesperson tried to hype me on a new car when I was bringing mine in for service.

I have no idea how I received my keys and I definitely don't care. The dealership could throw them at me for all it matters. A 30 cent cardboard box won't change the way the car looks or drives.

Don't know about the growler but I got the leaper at the SF Auto Show for taking a two minute tour of the Sportbrake.

I didn't get any nice presentation stuff but I did get a good walkthrough; making sure my phone paired up, that sort of thing.

Sure...but I can afford new things.

I got that box, too. Neat, but nothing special.
