Default Koshi carbon fiber question

My koshi interior parts are finally arriving after 7 weeks tomorrow. 1. I was wondering if the parts come with adhesive tape already? 2. If not what brand or type/thickness did you guys use? I have some 3m but not sure if its too thick or not. Thanks

I have yet to receive my order but speaking to Damone at Maddness Autoworks he informed me that some items come with adhesive pre-applied and others don’t. I have received a couple of interior parts and none came with pre applied adhesive stripes. I chose to use a thin acrylic tape as opposed to a foam tape so it would sit as flush to the surface as possible. This is an example of what I used.

Thanks guys, the order was missing 2 pieces on the packing list (can anybody ever do anything right anymore?&#128545the pieces I did get fit well except for the vent covers. Note gap in upper right corner (same way on both vents)and aluminum showing. Not sure what to do about that, maybe some flat black tape would help. They are not taped down yet. I test fit everything first. See pics.

what are your thoughts on the steering wheel trim? The pieces look bulky on there. Was it worth the price?
I was thinking about getting some of their exterior parts.

@ mrjohn, the pieces are very thin, feather light. They look great. Pictures make everything look fatter. 😃 as far as worth the price, I think so, its real CF not that cheap stuff so you get what you pay for. Im expecting more interior pieces, besides the ones they shorted me. Madness Autosport is US based so they are slightly cheaper.

tmc motor sports offers a discount if you buy multiple pieces, did madness offer a discount of any kind? I have the list of pieces I want, but planned to pull the trigger once I got a firm estimate plus shipping Feom koshi, madness, and tmc. Thanks,

I placed an order thru Madness. I like the idea that you are dealing with an American based company so if there is a problem its easier to address. I dealt with Damone Rippy and he offered the best price of all three. By far the most expensive is direct from Koshi plus they will only accept a bank transfer for payment.

do the pieces go on easily? You didn't have to take off the center cap of the wheel in order to put the carbon fiber around the media controls?

fair enough, but they are just buying them from Koshi, so they still take a while to arrive and some of the price is inevitably going to cover their customs etc. I will send my list because they don’t show all the parts I’m looking for on their site, but curious about the recourse for the vent covers that don’t fit.

GG just call them and tell them what you want, I ordered 3 parts that were not on the site. It even says on the site to ask if piece is not listed on site. The vent covers can be sent back, the fit is not horrible, just off by about a mm, im going to mess with them tomorrow maybe I missed something. If the vent surrounds were black you would hardly notice it. Not so much with my aluminum ones.

yes they fit simply, I didnt have to remove any parts. I thought that media control part would be the hardest and saved it for last. Turns out it was the easiest and after the test fit decided it didnt even need tape to stay in place and snug. Your results may vary. The lower U piece around the r required a slight outward tug on the horn surround and slid in nicely.

19FRG your CF pieces look great. How are they fitted to your steering wheel? Are you satisfied with the steering wheel results, any visible seams? Held in place with double sided tape? The other pieces fit securely around the original interior console? Very nice addition to the interior, certainly brings it up a notch. Looks great. Thank you in advance for taking time to respond to my questions.

Frank, upper and lower wheel sections come in two pieces each., slight seam. Visible if you jam your head between glass and wheel. Held by ds tape. Center section popped in no tape as yet, no need. If it starts rattling I can always add it. Console piece were left out of order calling them monday....Idiots.

Thank you for your quick response. Are the seams noticeable and when possible, at your leisure, maybe some photos. I’m sure this would help us all in deciding what to purchase. The pieces with the R are they two separate items? I really like the look of your steering wheel. Thanks again.

Yes wheel looks a little bulky but still nice. I have some mirrors coming as I wanted to replace my overlays with true covers. If I like them I'll get more. I used my AX to pay and got best exchange rate at the time, still not great. I will contact the US store next time.
