Default lack of valved exhaust

I am wanting to install a valved exhaust system into a non valved model. Anyone do anything other than a vacuum activated add on control system like VAP or Vizu offer? I was wanting something more manual or permanent where it is off or on. Not throttle dependent,
I have seen electronic solenoids and also going to the way back with mechanical cutouts.

What say you for those of us who are flap challenged?

I can hear the muffled pops n bangs even without the valved exhaust. Turn off the darn radio, and listen!

Whatever you decide, it will be considerable $$$ just for the sound, as satisfying as those burbles are.

Good luck!

I am going to be looking at a 2015 Ftype base coupe in a week or so. It does NOT have the in-cabin exhaust button. I assume I do not have a valved system?? I will be looking into some option to at least make it sound as aggressive as a Ftype S.... Anybody have any experience or suggestions when you don't have the exhaust button inside the cabin? Thanks!

If no in cabin button then no valved exhaust. to be 100 percent certain take a peak under the rear and you can easily see if there is a bypass of the muffler or not.
Mine is straight piped which I love 99% of the time. It is the 1% where I need to take a call that it is a problem. I think if I had it to do over I would straight pipe it and leave in the resonator as I deleted that for a X pipe and I get a drone right at 75-80 mph. This is why I am looking to go to a valved setup. Not to make it louder, but to let me take a phone call when I have to instead of listening to that glorious exhaust note.

My question was more about alternatives to a vacuum activated system. black friday is coming up for both Vizu and VAP

This is not always correct. From 2013-2016/2017, base cars had a non-valved, non-active exhaust. Starting sometime in 2017 (some have it, some don't), the base option became a non-switchable but active exhaust. In other words, the valves are there and working but there is no switch to manually activate them (Dynamic mode would open them, however). The 'switchable active exhaust' was an option that added the exhaust button on the center console. So anything 2017 and newer will have valves regardless of the presence of an exhaust switch.

Default Additional facts

I have a MY 2017 ( base? 6 cylinder) that was built in late 2016. It has manual transmission. Options include the Vision Pack. I have switchable exhaust and a Dynamic switch which can operate independently of each other. When I start the car after being parked overnight, it is no longer in Dynamic and Active exhaust is off, even though both were "on" when I shut the car off. If I have Dynamic on, shut the car off, it will stay set for up to 6 hours, then Dynamic shuts itself off.
I've read all the threads and posts about fuses 15 /43 and have opted to leave them alone.

There was a software update (H136) that defeats dynamic mode on restart regardless of time off.
