Default Leather Care

I'm curious what the general consensus is on the best leather cleaner and conditioner is for our car? Yesterday I had a little spill in the cup holder and tried cleaning it with a damp cloth, however some of the red dye from the leather transferred onto the cloth.

I have the full red leather interior upgrade. I know Jaguar has a "luxury Leather care kit" however I have yet to see any reviews on it, not to mention will be way over priced for what it is.

My dealer gave me a bottle of the Jaguar leather cleaner... When I read it carefully, it states that it's not for suede or alcantara... I have the suedecloth interior.... go figure.

So far I've just used a damp microfiber cloth and a very light stroke. It looks just like new.

i use leatherique prestine clean, best cleaner i've used and i've gone through them all. modern leather is pvc coated so you really don't need to use a conditioner provided your leather cleaner is ph neutral/gentle

but as a hobbiest detailer i still find myself reaching for a conditioner after a good clean just for the smell and initially supple feeling

so i use either Zaino Z10/Prima Nourish/Duragloss 221 - they are all the same product rebottled. DG 221 is the cheapest way to buy it

I've used Lexol on my XKR and honestly the leather still looks new.

as per my post, just buy the duragloss 221, it's same product in same volume and a bit cheaper

most of the zaino range is rebottled duragloss, including their leather cleaner

Zaino products are way overpriced IMO.

For leather, I have been using Lexol products for many years.

Today I made the mistake of putting keys in the cup holders. Does anyone know if this is repairable? And does anyone know of a shop in Los Angeles that they would recommend?

I'd probably ignore something that tiny and would forget about it very shortly. You're fixated on it now but time will correct that. However, an upholstery repair shop can use a resin that can fill the void. The pros are pretty good at mixing it for a very close color match.

I had a boat with an inch or so cut on the leather couch in the cabin, and they made that completely disappear. I don't know how, but it was a bit like magic.

I'm hoping I would. I am very careful with things usually, but I am so used to cars with plastic center consoles.

Interesting. On collection my car had tags attached to the seats that covered leather care. Soft damp cloths were mentioned, along with vacuum cleaners - but that's it.

That said, I have previously used saddle soap and lanolin when rescusitating a tired leather interior.

are there any recommendations for the caramel colored interior? I have lexol cleaner and conditioner but have not used them yet. I am worried that using them will change the color of the leather. is that a valid concern? t=does a natural "weathering" occur when using conditioners?

I clean my Bogue with lexol and my wifes off white,Maserati Sabbia, and both work fine. Cleaner than conditioner or only cleaner as needed.
