Default license plate light

One of my license plate lights burnt out. I think the seal broke and some water got inside. I tried to order through Harper Jaguar. The part number they originally gave me was T2P1745 (just the light) but I was told that part number was discontinued. I was told the lights are no longer sold separately. It is only sold as a complete unit, the two license plate lights, trunk (boot) release and the plastic housing. About $119 USD, maybe part number T2R14171 (whole unit in picture). I ordered the license plate light from another Jaguar place in California and was told the part number was T2R38453 (just the light). But it has been 2 or 3 weeks and they are saying the part is held up overseas. At this point I'm not sure what the part number is, I have also been told T2P1745 (just the light) was for an XK. Can anyone help me sort this out?

Wouldn't be surprised to see Jag make you buy the whole assembly. I had a sensor failure on the door handle had had to get entire mechanism, including outsde door handle!

Are you trying to replace the seal, the entire thing or just the bulb?

It’s a sealed unit, it looks to have numerous LEDs in it.

try brit-car.co.uk, that's where i source all my oe parts from

i'd be buying 2 just in case the other is on it's way out, save you the hassle, also brightness may differ new vs used

Yep, same here, Britcar is my go to for OEM parts.
Consistently the cheapest I can find here in Oz, great service and lightning quick postage seeing as it's the other side of the planet.
Although of course the postage cost is a bit steeper than AliExpress junk coming via the slow boat from China!
