22 Ftype R coupe with sign in window on showroom floor. Was 119k now 134 k. 🤣 sure sign me up.

 

When I picked up my new F-Type in March there was a Land Rover on the showroom floor with a "Market Adjustment" of $25,000.00 and there was a man looking at it with his phone against his ear almost begging his SO to get there quickly because he feared it wouldn't be there long. Every car at the dealership whether new, CPO or used had at least a $2,000.00 Market Adjustment.

 

yeah, it's rough out there, the porsche side of the lot was about the same.

 

I saw the same thing when I had my 2021 F Type in for an oil change about a month ago. The one F Type in the showroom had a $10K "market adjustment" added to the window sticker and the Land Rovers, which are already big bucks had $25K market adjustments. The salesman told me they are selling Land Rovers as fast as they get them in. The dealership is in a very affluent area so I guess those market adjustments don't mean much to the buyers.

When I bought my 2021 in May of last year, there was a 0%/5 year financing program or a $10k discount for cash program in place. I opted for the cash discount. Today, the same car would cost a whopping 20% more. I thought the nearly 8% inflation rate that we are currently suffering through for food, gas and other essentials was bad, but the inflation on many vehicles is much, much worse.

 

Local Ford dealer had a $25,000 market adjustment hand written on the window sticker of a Bronco. And it was painted that blah non-metallic dove gray that seems so popular all of a sudden. What's with this grey paint on so many new cars now?

 

I too think the pale gray, non-metallic color seen from several manufacturers in the last couple of years is hideous. Well, it looks OK on a battleship.

 

I think that's a version of "low hanging fruit". Put a huge price on a car and see if anyone shallow/impulsive/dimwitted enough walks by and just has to have it.

Regarding the Ford "market adjustments", it's so upset Ford Corporate that they're seriously considering going to a Tesla-style sales network, selling direct from Ford Corp and going around the dealerships.

 

Love a metallic gray. The non metallic gray reminds me of a glossy primer. Not for me.

 

I know, it's horrible. Being ex Navy I despise that color. I also despise painting anything 🤣
