Looking for Purchase Advice on a new 2013 F-Type
Hi
Basically I would like any and all advice on how to buy a new 2013 F-Type at the best possible price:
Why any options at all - because I want a garage door opener - yes it seems silly - note I might drop the PREMIUM PACK (F-TYPE) to save $3,000.
I don't want to cross post the same question twice, here is a link to my "prior lengthy question" on the same topic to another forum member who seems to have gotten a good price on the next years model.
Thanks in Advance
Basically I would like any and all advice on how to buy a new 2013 F-Type at the best possible price:
- How to negotiate a discount on a factory F-type order.
- The percent (%) discount (or range) off of MSRP I should be trying for.
- Who I should contact (southern California dealer/sales contact name).
- How to pre-order I also think I might have to put down a deposit.
- I am willing to wait up to 8 months - no rush - low price is important.

I wouldn't count on any discount on F-Types when they first come out. You may have to pay a premium depending on demand. SoCal used to be a hot market for Jags when I used to live there so you likely will have to wait a year or more to get a discount.
Phoenix dealer in Scottsdale were asking for a $10,000 deposit just to get your name on a list, when cars came in you had to come up with the balance or lose your place in line.
I doubt that you will see under MSRP for quite a while. I remember many desirable cars coming on the market at above MSRP and the saleman just smiles and says demand is there.

All of this advice is sound. The best example I have seen recently on a completely new car was the R8. Dealers were demanding stupid "waiting list deposits" of up to $20 large. If you have patience and are willing to travel to get the car that you want, you may be able to find it at a good price, in about a year.
From my perspective............I hope and pray not. I get faint and feel queasy when looking online at a XJ or XF with a inline 4 cylinder. That ain't a Jaguar, noway no how.
i feel it aint a real jag if it doesnt have 12 cylinders, check my garage!
and if you never have owned any 12 cylinder car, you cant really make an honest opinion!
the smoothness is incredible, like slipping thru a quiet lake in a canoe.
and i think it would be great for Jaguar to make a new V12 car.

Therly will be charging a premium on these cars over sticker according to my dealer. I ordered mine and was fortunate that my guy is giving it to me at sticker since ive known him a long time...good luck
This is going to be a hot car for little while, so I can't see a dealer initially cutting a deal. Who knows? Maybe some dealers will be sitting a on one or two, but will they be the one you want?
