You really need a dry clutch to get the full effect; what a friend describes as "a blender full of nickels in a thunderstorm."

That's a good description! I'm very familiar with it, but my body doesn't appreciate the sport riding position any more. My last "sport" bike was a Triumph Speed Triple, and now I'm enjoying the relaxed position of the Diavel.

I ride an enduro for fun around my area but my buddy just purchased a 1299 P with a full Akra system and what a bike wow, scary fast but extremely uncomfortable. another friend has a scrambler and that bike is a joy to ride, we took off the muffler and it pops and bangs like crazy, favorite bike to ride to date.

I appreciate the Cobra Kit car that is down the street, Open pipes, American V8 and he runs it around sometimes on the weekend. The ******* who lives down the street, around the corner, across a major street, down another street around another corner and somewhere further back there? **** him. No exhaust on an Audi S4 that he drives to work early every ****ing day, full throttle as he stomps on it to enter the major street? That's my forced alarm clock and I know this part is subjective, but I think it sounds like ****, to boot.

I'm looking for where the guy is so I can make some recommendations. Even not flooring it to redline when he enters the major street would be a huge help. If he tells me to **** off, I'll call the damn cops. I'm over it.
while I'm aware how loud that engine ( supercharged v6) (or the N/A v8 )is with straight pipes, a kid I knew had one (supercharged v6) with no cats/ res/ muff, and it sounded disgusting, way too loud and raspy, I do also know that if you short shift it and drive normally its possible not to wake the world up, if that's the case I would talk more about his driving then just the exhaust, in all the loud cars I've owned there has 99.9% always been a way to drive it reasonably for short periods of time, If the kid has an issue with driving more respectfully and drives reckless through the community, then call the cops that's fair.

The scrambler is way fun. I'd love to have one but I have less garage space than I do ability to persuade the wife.

When I was in my early twenties, the office secretaries (yes...they were called secretaries a half century ago) were taking book on whether I would make it to age 30. Getting married at age 26 profoundly changed the odds.

I respect almost none of my neighbors. I live in a semi private subdivision where most people have a minimum of 3 kids. The general feeling is that kids are the reason we all exist. They are driven to the bus stop when the temperature is below 65 because they poor kids can’t be in the elements - high school kids included. They are sheltered and allowed to do whatever they want. Come of the bus, leave trash in the yards and use my front yard as a football and soccer field because god forbid they wait for 5 minutes without being entertained - the parents participate and promote the games (I live across the street from the bus stop). I also have those that, despite the street and ample sidewalks, still ride Bikes in the grass and generally treat every house and yard likes it theirs. I have numerous other grievances, but would like to not sound like the “get off my lawn guy”, but make no mistake, the days I am in the office begin with as much noise as the f - type can muster - at 5:30 am.

A little late for that.

When I was in my early 20's, me and my CBR got into a fight with and International pick-up truck. He won. Going back into the Army for another 20 years changed mine.

I am certain that would have depended on when you went into the army, whether it changed them for the better or worse.

Like most things in life it’s about respect.

I have the benefit in keeping mine in my garage and if I leave early enough I avoid the cold start rumble by starting it with the door closed and opening it soon after.

leave the neighbourhood for the open road and the loud button gets pressed.

LOL, funny that it's true and still went on 3 trips to Iraq and 1 to Afghanistan.

I literally watched the next door neighbors kid hacking my lawn while wildly swinging a golf club last summer - zero regard for anyone but themselves. I did my best to emphasize the importance of respecting others people's property which is how I was raised. If you think I'm that guy, fair enough - maybe we should continue to promote the "everyone's a winner" concept and instead of pushing people to greater things, we can just keep lowering the bar.
