Default Loving it so far...

Just got a loaded firesand V8S (black pack, extended leather pack, firesand stitching, carbon fiber blade wheels, upgraded stereo, ...). So far, loving it...

It's my first Jaguar. I also have a Range Rover Sport Autobiography so I am familiar with the engine in the F-Type. It was already torquey and strong on the 6900lb Range Rover and it's just insane in the Jag.

I really want to get the aluminum paddle shifters. My dealer says they're not available yet with no ETA. Is it usual for accessories to lag? How long is typical?

I also want the aluminum paddle shifters. Can't imagine why they would use plastic.

They are available, but you might have to order them from the U.K.

I might get a set for my car, but I don't think they are worth $400 - $500 dollars or whatever they are asking for them. I might email Mina Gallery and see if they can make some up out of carbon fiber for us.

I'd be all over a nice set of carbon fiber paddles!

Assuming we don't have to chew up the car too badly to take off the plastic ones it comes with

Me too...

And Ghostrider says its an easy install, so no worries chewing anything up.

"BTW...really easy to install. There's a torx screw right behind the shifter (I had to turn the wheel to get to it). Unscrew it and the paddle wiggles out. There a wire connecter in which you push the tab from behind and pulls right out."

There's a specific part number for the F-Type aluminum paddles: T2R6547. I even saw an eBay auction for them so at least a few of them got out into the wild.

However my dealer says that that part has been discontinued and superseded by T2R6547MMU. So maybe there was some issue with the original ones and the new ones aren't available yet?

Anyone have any additional insight?

My dealer told me the same thing, there is a specific paddle for the XK and the Evoque ones wont work.

Well, a few days later Ghostrider makes that post and obviously my dealer was wrong.

My logic is:

If the F-Type paddles will switch over and work in the Evoque and the XK, then the XK paddles will work in the F-type and the Evoque, and the Evoque paddles will work in the XK and the F-Type.

I believe they will all fit, but I could be wrong. Maybe someone else will chime in.
