Default Lowered 21+ FTR

So, searching through the forum, can't really find many 21+ AWD Rs that have lowering springs. Anyone have springs on their 21+ R? I'm looking at the KW height adjustable springs. Any craziness associated with the install due to the AWD system or anything else?

Nothing strange on the install, they just insert in place of the OEM springs and you dial them in to the height you want.

No experience with kw, had vap springs before, rides very similar to stock and moderate drop.

have h&r right now, rides even better than vap as long as you’re okay with the extra drop.

yeah, those H&Rs are really low. I thiught the VAP sorings were low too. Plus, I read some posts where people were having issues with the VAPs: having to use RWD springs on the AWD cars instead of the AWD springs because the AWD springs were too low or something.

Our springs are not too low, they sit higher than the H&R's, generally speaking. We've sold 200+ sets of springs for these cars, and there are a total of 5 cars that had a different front fitment to the expected spring. I'm always surprised when people think there's some big issue, it's close to 2% of the vehicles that are atypical. Still not sure why, but it's not going to be unique to our product, if another non-adjustable spring is specced for one of them it won't fit the other. So it's not an issue with our product, it's an issue with the build consistency/spec and being able to determine which OEM front spring type the vehicle has.

The P450 we have discovered has a different rear spring to the prior year AWD cars. That has just been tested in prototype.

I just installed the KW HAS on my '16R Coupe last wknd. Clumsily captured some pics and vids during my install which I'll upload later, but install was straight forward and the removal/install steps of the struts on the AWD were among the simplest compared to other cars I've seen. Only caution - be extra careful and gentle using the T30 bit that stops the front upper control arm's ball joint from spinning as you unfasten the 18mm nut. I snapped my bit due to not holding the rachet at right angle. Couldn't get the bit back out from the bolt and had to install a new control arm!

I set the fronts at 14.5" (hub center to fender arch) which on my car is .5" lower compared to factory. 3/8" threads remain unused on the KW perch, which could drop the fronts down to KW's min specs of 14 1/8". Rears also lowered .5" for now. Initial perception is car is slightly less bouncy than OE (still very stiff) and flatter through the 1 corner I've tried at speed. Surprisingly, no more scraping going over the same speed humps despite the lowering.
