I spend over an hour in my car driving back and forth to work (freeway miles), so I have logged a fair amount of "quality" time with the Meredian system. For me, the issue goes well beyond the rattles (380 watt version). What I am struggling with is the quality of the sound (distortion, flat, lifeless, etc.). I know the car is not the optimal environment - that's what the home system is for. But what I have found is that it is to the point that I can't go long with the volume turned up (moderate, not deafening) without starting to get a headache. Doesn't happen with the home system or the previous car.

Yes, the exhaust sound is awesome, but for me, cruise control set and just cruising along, I'd like a quality (not crazy, just good) system to enjoy while on the drive.

Poor sound quality, main problem is the sub behind the seat are not positioned right, for a deep sub sound they had to put the sub speakers back in the trunk panel, like in the XJ

I have the 380W system and it could be better. Not bad enough to make me want to screw with it by any means. It's basically fine...I just think they could have put in some better quality speakers and a more dynamic amp.

I like mine after the software upgrade, however I am used to having an actual sub that produces low frequencies. It doesn't have to be huge to do that and 8" is fine, but the calibration on the stock system rolls off below rather steeply below about 45hz. I completely understand them not wanting to have it go lower, because it could rattle things much more, and a hatch makes it worse. Most people aren't interested in the lowest frequencies. I have an 8" sub in the trunk of my hyundai that has much better low frequency reproduction, AND the car doesn't rattle at all. I might modify the system in the F-type if i wasn't worried about breaking interior pieces.

ALSO, the car already makes its own music, so I'm fine with it

I find the 3.0L sound system to be entirely satisfactory.

I finally figured out a song that consistently makes the door speakers rattle (usually I've only noticed it when there is talking - either DJs or the time I tried listening to a podcast). So today when mine went in for something else, I gave them a link to the song that does it and made a note that it's when it is at a high enough volume to hear with the top down on the highway so we'll see if they claim they can't recreate the rattle. I'm honestly not worried at it if they can't - I'm more concerned with them fixing what I came in for (charging system), but figured since they had it in, might as well mention it while I still have 2 months left on the full factory warranty and I go into my CPO warranty. And since I enjoy the sound of the engine/exhaust, I'm fine with it as is and wouldn't have taken it in for this alone.

Default Poor with rattles

770, just terrible sound quality - worse than my Toyota echo's stock system when on Sattelite radio. It gets better on MP3. Rattles come from the passenger sub, sometimes the drivers speakers, which have already been replaced under warranty for ptttthhhhh ing. Really the worst part of the car, thankfully. Of course had I bought this car new and over $100k off the lot, I'd be way way more mad.

Maybe they upped the ante, but my MY2019 has a fine standard Meridian system. I’ve got Meridian with Dynaudio at home and the sound is on par.

I would think by this time they are putting the right software on at the factory. Since the TSB update, my system sounds great.

Unhinged it's probably time for a series of new polls:

Those pre TSB cars that are in the TSB coverage who have not had the updat
Same as above without the update
Post TSB cars

Or should we give up on this and move on?

I think we've beaten this one to death. All of the TSB's and possible corrective actions have been listed. And Cambo has drawn a roadmap of upgrades for people who are still not satisfied after the corrective actions and software updates. It's now just a matter of us pointing out to forum newcomers where they can find this info.

I have the 380 in a r, but the 2016 model where the system changed. It's crap !. I know a lot of people say it's ok, but I have the meridian 825 in my range rover sport, which is like comparing a modern hifi with my grandma's radio. It really is that much of a gap in quality

Agree that in Range Rover loaner and XE loaner it does sound better, but it is harder in the 2 seater to sound the same.
