Default Michelin Tire confusion

I was half way into a scavenger ralley and I hit a road refurbishment lip dead on. Hardest lip I ever hit in a car.
here's the thing. I run michelin Supersport 4s tires and they do NOT say ZP ON them..
Yet?? Check the pic
It held full pressure for roughly 30 miles post puncture before that innertube gave out
what gives with the branding??

That looks like bead filler from the sidewall. Run-flats don't rely on an inner tube - a nail would go through that and deflate it, just like on a bicycle tire. Instead, they have reinforced sidewalls that allow it to maintain rigidity even when the inner pressure drops. This is why you often hear complaints of a harsher ride with run-flats.

Thank you very much.. this makes sense.. all I can say is luck was on my side then because I was on a back mountain road in northern Adirondack's and my ftype doesn't have a spare. I was able to get to an area that jag road side wood be competent enough to find me a tow

Definitely not runflats. Had it been a run flat, you would have lost tire pressure and the TPMS would have flashed an alert. However, you would have been able to drive on for much longer than 30 miles.

I've thought about taking my Salsa Cat through the Adirondacks, but this is one reason I've been hesitant - no spare, perhaps limited cell service.

I expected to use my F-type on roads like that, and do! Frequently. I ordered the spare. Only one the dealer had ever seen. I have never needed it, but good for peace of mind.

Hope you ordered the jack and lug wrench, too.
