Dan_NL,
I'm 65, and although still very active, the last two years have been marked by significant changes in my physical capabilities, and I often wonder how or if I'll be able to walk in a few short years. (Let alone live beyond that time) And in terms of flying, I've learned my lesson, very painfully, that I can't do 6 hour flights any longer, it reeks havoc with my feet that I'm not willing to go through any longer. Whereas I always looked for non-stop flights when flying cross country, from now on, it will be as many stops as I can find along the way. And folding myself into a pretzel to get in and out of my Pantera is not the easiest thing in the world for me any longer either, in addition to having to drive it without shoes. But, it still has its rewards!

@tberg,
Sounds serious. I suffer from worn upper vertebras : incurable and inoperable according to 2 leading surgeons.
I am hoping for advancing science for a cure.. For me walking was getting a problem, until my son discovered
'5 finger shoes'. I wear them now 3 to 5 hours per day and my feet get better !

Proves my point. For some, "Middle age" turns out to be about 22.

.

That is very close, an epiphany, if not spot on! I don't really know what happened to me. One day I woke up (1.5 years ago) and simply had to have the F-Type. And I mean HAD TO HAVE IT! I really can't afford it but that didn't matter. I HAD TO HAVE IT! Never felt that way about anything really. My wife was so shocked at this epiphany and my HAVE TO HAVE IT rage that she simply stepped out the way mumbling whatever......

Because you are being crushed by over burdensome governments controlling ever facet of your life to the point you feel helpless and insignificant?

You're close.. .. that was my employer then..

But now simular problems with local council. They run the place like their Kingdom, population has no say in anything. Feels like they on purpose do the opposite the population wants..
Can't do much about it, the way our 'democracy' works, unless we get a gun incident like in the USA. Unlikely as guns are heavily regulated here and 'obiding citizens' wouldn't know
even were to start to get a gun..
