Answer to your first question is right here:

https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/f...=eco+mode+type

Not sure what you are asking in the second one.

I believe he wants the car to start up in (or default to) Dynamic mode. An enterprising individual developed an electronic module to do exactly that for the Gen 1 MINI. It was connected in series with the Dynamic switch and somehow involved a latching relay. Any electronic engineers out there?

Yes. This could be tricky, as all of the switches communicate via the CAN bus. But probably wouldn't be hard to simulate the pushing of the ECO button a few seconds after the car is started. Or build a mechanical finger to actually push the button.

That would be my purview, but not a very elegant solution.

Since I always wait for the engine to drop out of fast idle after starting before I drive, I have a few seconds for the button sequence. Sometimes I even go through the checklist in my mind:

Atomic batteries to power!
Turbines to speed!
(buckle up)
Ready to move out!

I agree with the time to take for a checklist. Set up the Bluetooth because I don't always have it on or what I want to play, eco button, fast idle, etc. It's kind of like getting into something that you can fly ( which the car does ) or a motorcycle where you check the tires, lights, etc.
