Default Monterey Car Week Friday Drive / Lunch

Monterey Car Week is right around the corner! Thinking of heading down to check out the festivities. Something like this

* 8 AM, Leave SF for Monterey.

* 9 AM, Pitstop in San Jose for South Bay folks to join caravan.

* 10-11 AM Arrive at Quail Lodge to checkout the Bonhams Auction parking lot. Yes, the PARKING LOT. Won't actually go into the auction (requires tickets). But the parking lot is insane! I was blown away at the quality of the cars last year. I parked next to a P1 (http://www.bonhams.com/auctions/22792/)

* Noon-1pm Lunch, somewhere on Ocean Ave in Carmel-by-the-Sea

* 2-4 PM Scenic Drive along 17 Mile, Stop by Pebble Beach Golf Course (http://www.pebblebeach.com/activitie.../17-mile-drive)

* 4 PM Cannery Row for the Exotic Car Display (https://www.facebook.com/eocrshow)

Here's what I mean by the insane parking lot. From last year:

That sounds like fun.

That is on Friday August 14th, right? Not sure I can swing an all day trip on a Friday.

There is SO much going on the whole week as you guys know...I'm hosting a luncheon on Monday the 10th @ 1pm for the Bay Area J.A.G group,we're meeting @ The Fish House in Monterey, about 12-16 cars.

I have no commitments at Laguna this year so I'm a free agent,I'll be cruising both the Jag and the '28 roadster all week long taking in as many events as I can...

I'll be driving the F-Type R up to Monterey on Friday and heading home on Monday. The game plan is similar to yours. We are planing to go to Works, Lookey-loo at Quail MG, Checkout Bonham's auction. We haven't been to the Exotics on Cannery Row before, so we are planing on going to it this year. Saturday it is Concorso Italiano, Tour d'Lemons (if time), check out the auctions downtown. Sunday will be Bumming around Pebble Beach and then check out Gooding Auction.

It's their first year. Same guys that run that Gold Rush Rally. Lots of high end exotics. Lots of stickers/decals/bling kind of group. I'm tentatively down Thursday and Friday night (heading back early Saturday morning for family obligations). Hope to see you driving around.

I'll keep a lookout for a white F-Type coupe. I'll be in a Firesand 2015 F-Type R with show and go plate mount on the front. I may remove the plate when I get into Monterey. Doubt they'll be doing any front plate checks that week.

I am in for the Monterey Car Week Friday Drive/Lunch idea! Just name the rendez-vous point in SF.

Hey Marc,

A little change of plans on my part. I'm actually going down Thursday, spending the night Thursday and Friday. I am still interested in meeting up with other F-Types for some activities like lunch, drive along 17 Mile, etc. Obviously you guys can still caravan down without me.

If you guys are still interested in meeting up for lunch, etc., LMK, will try to see if we can book a lunch reservation somewhere.

Our usual plan from San Diego has been to get to Carmel on Tuesday (Aug 11 this year) for the Concours on the Avenue, then a whole week of events. See the grid at:
http://www.pebblebeachconcours.net/p...darKit2015.pdf

Saturday's concours d'lemons is cool, never seen a Jag there, although I know my car would qualify ('54 xk120 faded red)

JaguarUSA will have a party - -can you get us in?
