Default Mounting convertible wind deflector

I would appreciate advice on how to remove the plastic covers from the roll bar to allow fitment of the wind deflector brackets.

Hi Rick:
I am not sure whether there were any replies but I did eventually manage to remove them.
Unfortunately, it was 4 years ago and I am unable to recall how I did it!!
I suspect it was just gently prying them out with a flat blade screwdriver, taking care to not damage the surround (perhaps some masking tape).
Hope you get it sorted. Can't be so hard - JLR techs can do it!!!

Thank you. I did try, but I am concerned with scratches / damage.
I am going to repost your question in a new thread.

does your car currently have the fabric deflector that you want to replace with a plexiglass one? if not, you have to buy the bracket first. You can see the brackets circle in yellow on the site listed. I bought a plain, clear deflector on E-bay from these guys https://www.ebay.com/itm/353204546925 plastic caps are hinged and pop open- use a plastic knife or similar.

go here for installation video https://windrestrictor.com/tech_videos scroll down to F-type

Fast forward in about 4 minutes and 45 seconds for his tutorial on how to remove the hoop covers

OK, I got it. I used a couple of plastic scrapers to pry them off. Was pretty simple. Thank you CJSJAG.

They snap off as I recall, BUT I strongly recommend you get the instruction sheet or find it online and have a torx kit handy.

JLR will charge an hourly minimum and that would be a waste. My deflector was just left in the trunk when new. I can’t imagine Lexus or Mercedes doing that. How many people have torx sets laying around?☮️
