mute button for radio?
Hello, does the f-type radio have a mute button? I received my car a few days ago and did not see a mute button off hand. I've simply been lowering the volume all the way which is annoying.
To the right of the gear selector is another radio volume button- I think you just press it down and the mute is on. I don't think there is a mute button on the steering wheel.
The "phone" button on my steering wheel does not mute the radio. However, the "mode" button switches to cd so if you don't have any cd's in your player then there will be no sound. Press the "mode" button twice to return to the radio for sound.
Whats a CD?
LOL.

yeah I like the idea of using the power button by the gear shifter but it's faster and more natural for me to use the mode control on the steering wheel. Kinda hacky but seems to work pretty well in the absence of a mute button on the steering wheel.
I'm aware of the power button and it is the more "correct" button to use instead of the mode button. however, the mode button is still easier and quicker for me to use.
Just got my F-type a week ago. Today I did not disconnect a phone call properly and all the sound in the car was disabled. Everything was on and even showing a volume progress bar but NO SOUND. Called someone else to try to stop the bad voodoo. Didn't help. Shut off the car. Twice. Didn't help. Drove to my destination 1 hour away in complete silence. 3 hours later, started the car, everything was back to normal. What??!!
The issue with using the mode button is that it cycles thru all the modes, Sat, Radio, Cd etc. A mute button would have been nice. Do the later model F's (I mean 17-18-19) have mute buttons? How about the sedans? and SUVs?
