My 2016 V6S manual is no more
I was going to Vegas last week and hydroplaned on I40 near Williams, AZ. Wound up rolling and spent the past week in a Flagstaff hospital with fractured shoulder and 11 broken ribs (all left side). Photos are up on Copart as of yesterday.
I do not know yet how settlement will play out given how few manuals were sold in the States.
Passenger compartment was left mostly in tact and the seat design is what I believe allowed what amounts to walking away alive. I was life-flighted but no surgeries or stitches were needed. I believe they injuries came from the left wing of the seat, but it beat the alternative.
I still have the key, so we will know next week if the engine would still turn over. Right rear wheel came off, so i wont be able to try and drive it. Side bags popped but not dash or steering wheel bags. It will be a total but engine and trans might have value. Car is in Copart lot at North Phoenix location.
I am in an aftercare facility until next week, so it will be a week before they can updat. Other keys and rear cargo cover are at the house.

OMG and so sorry to read of this horrible turn of events. ++++1, you are alive, seriously hurt, but able to be moved to aftercare. Though I never really thought deeply about how the F would protect me in such an accident, it was good to read that yours did its job to protect you.
Somewhat disturbed by the depreciating F values, I moved my 2017 manual F to Hagerty, where I was able to place an "agreed value" on it. $48,000 on a Premium, Vision Pack, Pano roof. If standard ins. co's are 'totalling" cars when repairs exceed 70% of value, 70% of $48K is better than 70% of $21-$35K.
MOST importantly, we will be hopeful that YOU have a full recovery.

Man that was a nasty accident. Hope you have a good recovery. In case anyone wants to see pictures https://www.copart.com/lot/71813335/...-phoenix-north
Looking at pics, it appears side curtain bags popped but neither of the front bags.
I do have, and will be providing all keys when I get home. I'll have one key to give next week and will update on whether it starts. If so, someone in the region may want to acquire it. Prelimary numbers have it at a bit over $4K on salvage value. Im getting screwed on the initial valuation, but they missed a lot of stuff. And, they are trying to use slushboxes for comps...
If anyone from here decides to eventually bid, I can supply records, most of which are just oil change and tire things, but it did get TWO clutches under warranty. I could also authorize my service writer to verify history since new...but the auction is likely at least a month away.

Liberty Mutual has this one under $20K but they missed a lot of stuff. I get being dinged for mileage but the car was otherwise in pristine condition. It isn't our fault that 2016 saw fewer than 600 manual V6S brought to the States and we shouldn't pay a penalty for the scarcity of comps...
I would have gone to Hagerty on this one, but I didn't want a cap on mileage. They have three of my other cars and were great on the XK8 claim several years ago and hail on the Spider two years ago.

@mbelanger Wishing you a speedy recovery...
Was there a rainstorm prior to or during the accident? Were you in a curve or straight line?

Glad to hear you're on the mend, and good luck with getting everything settled.

Glad to hear you survived.
The severity of your injuries are shocking though considering how large and heavy the F-TYPE is.
In my earlier 20's I totaled my first Honda S2000 by going over the side of a cliff, landing upside down, and sliding about 50 feet into a ravine. I was hanging upside down by my seat belt when the car came to a complete stop. I was able to walk away with only minor bruising and scratches from the broken glass. I'm also 6'3 and the S2000 is a much smaller car.

I was cocooned into the seat which helped tremendously IMO.
Glad you are in the mend. Sad news about the Jag.
for valuation, it might help to check C&B and BAT for recent MT auctions? I believe there was one or two earlier this year, don’t remember how much each went for but that might be a source for wholesale value at least. I’ve not ever totaled a car but with how few hit the market it might help flesh out the numbers a bit more, with $ added for retail. Good luck and quick healing!

Multiple sources online.. Kelley BB,etc. provide this explanation:
"If the insurance company declares your car a total loss, they will reimburse you for the fair market or book value of the vehicle immediately before the loss occurred, minus your deductible and any other fees.
Insurance companies “total” a car when the cost to repair the damage exceeds the vehicle’s book value at the time of the crash.
“Book value” is another way of saying “market value.” For instance, Kelley Blue Book closely monitors the automotive market, keeping track of what every make and model currently sells for as it ages. Whatever the actual cash value is at any given time is its book or market value."
*****************
If you are insured with a company that uses 'book value' for your F, best to find out exactly what that value is. I just 'valued' my 2017, Premium F, 6 cyl, manual trans, Vision Pack, Panoramic roof, 43K miles and NADA came back at $28,000. I moved the F to Hagerty coverage for an agreed value of $48,000. Same coverage and premium was less for that and our 2018 Corvette (Agreed Value $50,000). Perhaps not for everyone as you have to have another car available for use, and mileage not to be more than 3500-7500 yearly.
One MAY be able to find comparable sales for more money than 'book', but that's a crap shoot.
